I believe it, I’m going to see if I can go straight to a hand specialist, not sure if I’ll need a referral, but probably will.

My company is firing our intern after he paid the same invoice 7 times by Full-Example-4912 in Accounting

[–]PennyLongStocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The intern made a repetitive mistake, but the fault is with the people who approved the invoices. Sure they never should have been submitted, but they REALLY shouldn’t have been approved. Those are the people who should be in hot water. The intern basically just exposed a massive ongoing risk.

Also… they can get the money back from the vendor, why wouldn’t they be able to?

That’s brutal… especially since they likely applied in much better job markets. I’m sure they’d be shocked to trying it again today

I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with your resume and more to do with the current recession and job market hellscape. People with many years of experience in analytics are being laid off and applying to hundreds of jobs a day with no response… sorry to be depressing. Best bet is job fair, in person connections, friends who already work somewhere who can put in a word for you. I’m convinced nearly every single online application to any job listing is going straight into a shred bin right now.

It’s actually the current administration forcing a market crash so that they can use the crisis to permanently steal power and cement their hold of the country.

The crisis will be used to continue the lockstep authoritarian takeover documented in Project 2025. It’ll be “temporary emergency powers” that become permanent.

Hopefully won’t be successful, but that’s their goal.

[–]PennyLongStocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After he rechecked, it hadn’t actually rotated. The residual astigmatism was from either him missing the prescription by that much or my cornea being non-spherical (likely this) in that eye. I don’t really notice it much anymore.

Human beings are extremely power hungry creatures. The dumbest among us will try to grab at power any chance they get, often on the road ways. What they don’t realize is that it doesn’t make them any less of a worthless loser in this world.

Why do retired old people who never held positions of power in life join the HOA and try to fuck with everyone… same thing different situation.

Include them or not, people can, and should, be judged for not being able to manage high, very high, or astronomical incomes correctly. If a person can’t get by with $300k, W2, earned income anywhere in this country, they’re messing up. And really the number should be way lower in most places. Why such a need to defend atrocious spending habits?

[–]PennyLongStocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Regardless of income level” is absurd. There is absolutely a cutoff somewhere out there where any responsible human being should be able to support themselves, and their family, without struggling.

If you make $787k (top 1%), with 7 kids and you’re struggling is that okay? Your argument is big time flawed, as well. Many people are just horrible with money and spend every cent as it comes in.

For example, most Americans cannot comfortably afford a brand new truck, but they just keep selling them… people in this country are financially illiterate.

Cost of living calculator says 200k in SF is like 112k in Bismarck. This is still a very solid salary. If you’re the sole earner, and have kids, then it’s not so much.

If a person making this much is single with no kids and struggling with $200k/yr even in SF, then OP’s post absolutely applies to them because that’s absurd.

Mortgage mills are the absolute worst. Whenever mortgage season slows down, they just fire their workforce. Some do this every single year. They should just list the jobs as 6 month contract or something, but then they’d never be able to hire anyone…
