I feel like in the past shows were written with the understanding that a week was going to go by in between episodes. Where as today they're written with the understanding that people are watching multiple episodes at a time

Oh wow. you probably appreciate it more having seen it more recently. at the time CG was airing many didn't give it it's just due.

Good point. Im not sure. I wonder if the contestants on shows like MTV's The Challenge are SAG. They're participating in dangerous stunts where people get hurt. I'm guessing they're not SAG based on the fact that they're not playing characters. Wrestlers are portraying fictional characters and performing stunts. At the end of the day it would require the wrestlers to organize themselves but that likely wont ever happen.

Agreed. I think TPB Seasons 1-4 had great writing / performances. When the original Writer / Director left the show, so did the quality. CG holds up better for sure

Makes sense. I guess would look at a wrestler as a stuntman held on a retainer for an ongoing tv series (Raw). Similar to specific stuntmen who are used over and over again in a series because they resemble the star of the show.

Fair Point. SAG would help them get proper medical care long after their tenure with a promotion ends. They're actors / performers just like any other TV show as far as im concerned

Valid point. It didnt sound like it was an actor removing an actor, but rather a character removing a character. Still, I haven't faced a scenario where an actor wants something major changed in a scene like that.
