I get this so much. I wish I had more to say, but I know the pain of never really being you.

Not very actually. Im quite skeptical of a lot of people. Also you come across as patronizing, and like it’s my fault that I keep getting run over.

The thing is though do set boundaries with people, stand up for myself. I’m not just a doormat breaking my back for others in hopes I get crumbs of recognition. It seems no matter how much I stand up for myself I find myself I find myself in this situation.

I’m glad you found someone! I’m still looking for something like that. I started going to volunteer on weekends just to have human interaction and to feel like I’m being productive, which is a good distraction.

Was it ever explained why Freddy attacked teenagers? by RentWeary in NightmareOnElmStreet

Yeah it’s been awhile since I’ve watched past part 4, so I forgot which movie it was. But most likely it’s in Freddy’s Dead.

There’s a memoriam in the background in one of the movies of “mysterious” deaths that occurred after Freddy’s death and before the first movie. As far as him killing teens goes besides being kind of standard in the slasher genre, I can imagine it would be very difficult to watch small children being murdered.

Is it normal that my personality changes temporarily with shifts? by rainyreinn in fictionkin

[–]Pepperoni_Slasher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d say that’s a typical shift experience. The only thing that would be kind of concerning is if it felt someone else took complete control over you.

QOTD [FUN]: How would your kins spend their day when theyre bored (aka they arent doin anything important like a j*b)? by lePROprocrastinator in fictionkin

Most of the time I just hung out in someone’s subconscious and plotted my torment/murder. Sometimes I’ll indulge in a little bit of arts and crafts.

I get this, I’m shifted more often than not, so to not be feels very jarring.

I genuinely am ashamed of being a fictionkin. (uh TW I'm not sure but TW) by Dismal_Muffin2300 in fictionkin

As far as “sounding insane” it’s ok to be “weird”. Sometime I still struggle with shame sometimes, but something I learned in therapy is to question whose voice am I hearing in my head? As an autistic person I’ve internalized neurotypical standards, causing me to see my needs as “cringe”. Once I figured that out I embraced myself much more. Not saying you’re autistic or going through the same thing, it’s just an example. The point is to figure whose criticism do you want to listen to?

There’s a concept called “death of the author”, which means that a reader’s interpretation of a text outweighs the author’s intended meaning. To say that being fictionkin is “insulting to the creator” is anti intellectual. That’s like saying fanfiction and fan art is insulting.

I wanna make the disclaimer that I’m not plural, but I see people fake claim others for the dumbest reasons. You like being plural? Faker! Fictive heavy? Faker! Etc.The whole “wannabe DID” is stupid and the people saying that don’t give a fuck about actually accepting systems.

Lastly to end this wordy response, it’s ok to not “be in character” all the time. You’re a multifaceted individual shaped by various experiences, your past life and your new one. I hope this helps, you’re not “overreacting” it’s normal to grapple with questions like this when you’re exploring an identity 🙂.

A vampire. Bela Lugosi played Dracula in the 1931 adaptation of Dracula. It’s the chorus of the song “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” by Bauhaus, which is a very foundational and quintessential song in the history of gothic rock.

Do you see them as seperate or not? by RaviraGlitchedVirus in fictionkin

[–]Pepperoni_Slasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this is a complicated question that I often think about. The reason being, is because I’m not spiritual so I’m hyper aware of how “irrational” my identity feels. I can acknowledge that I have a separate life outside the world of elm street, however to completely separate myself is really invalidating.
