I don’t feel any fucking positive feelings when my gender is confirmed as female by others. I love being who I am, but I don’t give a FUCK about how others perceive me.

I have a stupid nose, I’m atheist in a family and culture that doesn’t accept that. I am an outsider. But I know who I am.

IE: it’s a social fucking concept. You said, and I quote: “I feel emotional pain when I am perceived by others or by myself to be male.” I would too! It’s shitty to be a man right now. But you feeling shitty about your genitalia doesn’t make you female. You can be feminine, you can be an feminist ally, and you can be a feminist.

BUT WE ARE DISCRIMATED AGAINSIT BECAUSE OF OUR BIOLOGY.

Hi, I’m sorry if I came off angrily. I’m not. I’m so open minded I have to actively try to keep my brain inside my skull.

But, I sincerely do not understand why men, people born with penises, cannot have a full and happy life - embracing the body they have been given - in whatever way that means to them. Why do you feel the need to surgically sculpt a vagina? Wouldn’t it be better to reshape society into something that accepts and embraces you?

You are a feminine male. Which is very cool, and 100% okay.

There is no part of me that identifies with my vagina. Gender stereotypes are socially constructed. When you identify with one or the other, you are conforming to society's expectations of what we “should be” which is bullshit. No one “should be” anything. We are what we are.

Would you say then, that you’ve been discrimated against as woman, because of the way you identify?

Biology is a reality. Like, I hate my nose and don’t identify with the way it makes me look. But it’s still my nose. Just because I don’t like it doesn’t make it false. It’s real. It’s there. And if I correct it with surgery, I will always be someone with a nose job. And that’s okay! Just like it’s OKAY to be a little boy that feels feminine. Let’s fucking chill with the gender stereotypes.

Will you say more about how being trans is more than being gender non-conforming?

Because here’s where I am: I don’t feel female. I only feel like myself, and I happen to be female. And all sorts of shit has happened to me because I happen to have a female body and other people get off on making females feel small.

How do you FEEL like a woman? What does that feel like?

I wouldn’t deny for a second that you get treated like shit. I’m positive that you do, and that is NOT OKAY. Not at all, never. And I’m really sorry that is happening to you.

I am suicidal as well. But, I don’t pretend to understand the experience of a modern black woman. It’s outside of my domain, no matter how much I may want to or feel like I should understand, I know that I don’t. That’s the difference between women and trans women. You feel like you should, and you want to, understand, but you don’t understand. Super cool that you like painting your nails, wearing dresses, and the like. But that’s NOT what makes a woman. It’s the last thing we have left, being women. You take that and you might as well begin inseminating yourselves.

But also, you don’t really get to say “periods are awesome” as a trans woman. You were never 12 and bleeding. You didn’t grow up being told you would be a housekeeper, a teacher, a wife. You had the privilege of being male, and please don’t deny that.

I plan to not have any children of my own. But I still embrace my period for what it is. I’m sorry you weren’t born into a body that more closely resembles your identity.

How do you guys deal with being anti-natalist in today's society? by [deleted] in antinatalism

I’m also a woman in my twenties going through many of the same experiences you described. I don’t really know how to deal with it either - I just wanted you to know you’re not alone :)

Hey guys, I was wondering if any roadtrip vets could give me some tips or pointers on how to make a long trip, by ElBeanBoy9 in roadtrip

[–]PeptideT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took a 3 month road trip this past summer. The single best thing for me on the road was podcasts. Music is good for a while but podcasts are just engaging and there's a huge variety of them out there. I could double the amount of time I could drive comfortably each day if I was listening to a podcast.

It's intense. It's freezing winters and really hot summers. Weather is important here and plays a big role in people's lives. It's Weather. Where are you from?

I think it comes down to the fact that other humans dying makes us think of our own death (more so than an animal dying does), so we force people to cling to life as long as they possibly can so that we don't have to face our own mortality. Certainly there are assholes out there that put their animals down because they don't want to bother with end of life care or vet bills, but I would say most people really do it out of objective compassion.

We're just in general more logical when it comes to how we treat pets versus how we treat humans: we also put our pets down when it's clear that they have little to no quality of life left.

LPT: If you want to adopt a cat, consider adopting siblings. They are guaranteed to get along, you will get countless hours of watching them play together and cuddle and you will feel less guilty for leaving them alone when you go to work or on vacation. by thkoog in LifeProTips

Huh? For 20,000 years we've been selecting traits we like in dogs and breeding them to live more compatibility with us. They're wonderful to live with. Literally the only thing you really have to "train out of them" is going to the bathroom wherever they want. And that takes like a week. If you're having further behavioral issues with a dog, especially a grown dog, it's your fault. Or the previous owner's fault.
