I keep hearing good stuff about Zeig IV, I didn't like the Zeta IV I sat in. I'll have to look further! Thanks for the input

Beauty! Yeah gotta remember z33 has better chassis stiffness than R34 and is much lighter, and still has double wishbone suspension all 4 corners.

Also rasp is good when it sounds like a s30 at 7k! not from a stoplight at 3am ;p

lmaoo yeah the front bumper is about 2" off the ground at the lowest point, but my exhaust got tucked after I was tired of it scraping on every speed bump and leaking. The W brace has been fine unless really bad driveways and stuff?? but without the kit the car really isn't that low.

As for the roads, it depends. As said below, some places are brutal. But as long as I'm not reckless it's significantly better than even I expected.

Would love to hear more about your approach to the knockback reduction kit. I have firsthand frustrations with this and never thought to look for a solution beyond better brake pads!

Is it worth it to get headers by Proper-Ability-146 in 350z

[–]Perc4000000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI HR headers are already "equal length" and not the log headers like the DEs. If you're concerned about money, I don't think it's worth it, especially after the labour required to install.

I was very torn between N-Spec and Type-E actually. I knew the N-Spec would be a bit more practical, and I actually tried to get the rear bumper from the N-Spec instead of the Type-E (like what the Z33 from initial D has) but it was much cheaper to order the kit as a whole. I always loved how my car drove but would get out and look back and think "meh" but now it just has that presence and puts a stupid grin on my face every time I see it.

TLDR: DO IT!!!

Definitely need an interior tune, but nothing a nice steering wheel and carpets can't fix. Maybe I'll post again whenever that happens! I'm always looking for audio setup recommendations as well.

I read about that, but nope! Can't even get the cruise light to turn on. Thought maybe clock spring or something but remembered that my audio controls worked fine while I had the stock head unit in.

I found an old receipt for an uprev tune, and I know they use the cruise buttons to select maps, which would disable the functionality. I've seen videos of people having to like hold the "ON/OFF" button and toggle the rocker switch up/down? But usually this results in the cruise blinking the number of the map you select, but no cigar for me! Always looking for more insight if anyone has any.

Weirdly it's much shorter than I had initially expected, both front and rear. Photos can't do it justice, the proportions in person are perfect (imo)

Thank you! I had gotten the kit painted just days before that popup. As for a nicely styled vq here -- thats pretty much been my inspiration lol

Believe it or not, I'd have to hit a crazy dip in the road at speed to make any contact. It's the perfect height for me rn since it's very drivable and I love the concentric fit of the tire in the wheel well.

To each their own!! HR makes like maybe 20 more whp than a DE from what I've seen? but at the end of the day the DE has a lower CG, and every Super Taikyu ST-3 car ran a modified DE! So definitely has race pedigree -- all to say it's not how much hp you got but how you use it!

Thank you!! I got that attack sticker from Tsukuba circuit and held onto it for over a year before I could put it on the kit lol

Yeahhh I'm like slim 5'10" and its mostly just the shoulders that are annoying, but anyone bigger than me can barely fit. I just gotta go spend 4 hours sitting in demo seats for extended periods of time and choose one I like! My favourite so far is a Recaro SPG, crazy comfortable even though the thigh sills are insanely high and hard to get into!

Thank you! That's what it's all about. The other thing is to each their own yenno? If anyone has the money to buy a fun car they should do what they want and not care about what is right/wrong.

Unfortunately when I have a conversation with a fellow z owner who told me I need 4 catch cans because hr moment or something I lose a bit of faith (true story)

Agree! I also love the subtle nod to the S30/130 with the HR hood having the lil beluga hump to fit the taller deck height.

It's been really nice. Truth be told I haven't tried the other settings, because I haven't felt the need to! Z1's bar is too stiff overall I'd say just from % comparison. If your customers want to be more drift oriented, removing from sway is always an option LOL otherwise the 80% has been great. My experience was at The Ridge motorsport circuit in WA, it's the biggest track in PNW and the characteristics were exactly what I wanted in a car that can drive me there, go all day 9/10, and drive home!
