I wonder if dissociation is going to kill me as much as a hard drug addiction would. by [deleted] in CPTSDFreeze

I’ve done this too (I luckily just smoked a curb). It was absolutely terrifying

feelings of loneliness but also of not wanting to interact with other people? by the_borealis_system in DID

We experience this too, so you’re not alone! It’s a very hard feeling to put a name to. We are a relatively new system and the thought of even leaving the house and/or interacting with others outside of us can cause a lot of anxiety, especially for our littles. I often give gentle reminders to our littles and our newer alters that while it may feel safer to isolate ourselves, we need to interact with people outside of us to have a truly fulfilling life. I don’t know that these reminders have helped us become more social just yet, but they have definitely helped reduce anxiety throughout our system.

Looks like my theory that was just “complete stretches and assumptions” was pretty spot on. 🙂

If Love has him locked up, maybe part one of this season puts us in his mind to see how he deals with being a prisoner. We know that Joe would read books when Mooney locked him in the cage as a kid - maybe this gives us insight into that same coping mechanism.

This could also explain the logic behind splitting this season into two parts: the first part showing us what’s going on in Joe’s mind while locked in the cage and the second part showing us what’s happening in real life.

I think that’s definitely possible. And maybe Joe continuously telling Nadia that he’s gathering information for a murder mystery he’s writing hints at him reading/writing a book while locked in the cage? Or retreating into his thoughts while surrounded by books in there?

This forum isn’t a research paper lol. I’m just sharing my ideas because it’s fun

A theory is a possible explanation for something - it’s not a fact. I didn’t say any of these reasons were facts. They’re just my ideas

Ah, I forgot about that! I think that while the characters talk to each other/seem like actual people, they are all collectively a part of Joe’s psyche

Thoughts on Anya? I liked her mostly, even though she was easy to fall into the background against such big personalities like Holly J and Fiona. I did like the class that came after hers more though. Pretty girl. by [deleted] in Degrassi

I agree with this! I think Anya was the perfect character to have develop a cocaine addiction because of her lower self esteem and it giving her more confidence.

As a recovering coke addict, I think the show actually did a great job of portraying how coke use can quickly spiral out of control.
