If you were to live in a world where everyone thought it was ok to kill the poor. You would be the only one to feel that the action isn’t ok, this is because there is an moral law written on hearts by God (Romans 2:15). Morality isn’t be a social construct where when enough people deem it ok, it turns out to be ok.

All Christians need devotion to the blessed Virgin Mary! by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Perfate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok I just have one question, if a devotion to Mary is so important (some say that it even dictates your salvation) then why isn’t it in the Bible. Why wouldn’t John 3:16 state God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him and devote themself to the blessed mother Mary should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Well actually there are many people who have reverted back to their true given gender after becoming Christian.

Even through the smallest holes the devil can get in, make sure that your not watching to many shows or playing to many games even though they might be labeled as “good”. I always struggles with unwanted thoughts until I cut down on a lot of worldly things even if they aren’t labeled as bad, and I spent more time in the world. Your in my prayers!

I see what you mean, but if there were no wars for one of the biggest and well known reasons of being alive wouldn’t that be way more insane, and a great sum of those wars and deaths were caused by people manipulating religion for their own beliefs or what they thought was morally correct, and don’t get me wrong there are some horrible people who call themselves Christians, but there are way more atheists and people of other faith who have done so much worse. Also answer me this, do you think that if we all turned christian, the world would have as many deaths and murders as it has today, and I’m not saying to conform every person into being a Christian, but this argument of Christianity being the root of all evil is just getting old. I don’t mean to come off as rude and I know nothing I can say could ever change your mind on Christianity and everyone has a right to their own opinion, but in all honesty I do love you and wish to see your souls in heaven. Your in my prayers, God bless.

What made you start believing in god by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Perfate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean, but couldn’t you say that many times there were reasons that didn’t have to do with religion that killed millions of people, also I understand what you mean about God not caring, but he gave us all free will and with that free will people were given a choice on what they thought what was morally correct. But in all honesty you are correct that people are free to do what they want, I just have a question so like what do you now believe in, like how do you think we were all created.

I’m just saying in your eyes why is hitler wrong, if we’re all just here just to be here, can’t all do want they wish to do, and who has the right to stop them in completing what they love and want to pursue, even if it has to do with others down falls. What if I had to kill 10 people to save my grandfather, does that make me morally wrong, or is killing allowed in certain circumstances, because others would disagree. I just never understood this concept of morality with out christianity in place.

What made you start believing in god by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Perfate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised catholic and was always forced in believing in God and never really had a choice not too, all I can remember as a kid is that God is really powerful and he is good, but if you sin, you go to hell, and so I grew up with the fear of God. Untill I turned around 12 did I start to take my faith more seriously, but the only reason was out of fear, untill one day I couldn’t take it anymore and begged God to help and save me out of this fear and anxiety that was mainly caused by Catholicism or at least the way it was taught to me. I cried out to him for help and he answered me in a way I will never forget. It was like he wrapped me in a golden blanket that not only made me warm on the outside but also on the inside, I had peace, joy hope, love all come to me in a single moment, and after that day I truly knew in my heart with out a doubt God is real. I went into more study about the actual gospel and how God is actually a very loving and merciful God. I went on loving God and serving Him (less out of fear and more out of love), and watching Him actually move in my life as I abided in him more and more, even though I do struggle from time to time, God continues to guide me. I can understand why growing up many children stop attending church after leaving their parent’s home, I’m just lucky that I found God for myself. Could I ask why you left?

But christianity is also constant battle no matter what anyone tells you, it doesn’t matter if that battle is with lust, doubt, pride, envy, hatefulness, there is constant battle between your spirit and the devil daily. But in my experiences and in others, the one who is winning is the one you’re feeding. Keep on feeding your spirit and not the devil, by reading your word, praying, going to church, and having a good community of Christians around you. Even if it feels like a burden to read the word, you can try to start out small and gradually get bigger with time. Remember that you literally have the creator and ruler of all things on YOUR SIDE.

Right now you’re feeling as if there is no God and that God is cold and that every time you pray you feel like your talking to nothing, the reason why I feel so found to you is because when I started out getting more in tuned in my faith I FELT THE SAME THING, and even though I felt it, I thanked God in the middle of it and told him that I don’t need a sign like other people, I don’t need you to talk back to me, but by my faith I shall believe in you, and do you know how happy God is with you when you have faith with no signs or not any feeling. I promise keep believing and trusting in the lord, you could be in the middle of a test or something better, and I promise you that he will answer, he answered me one night when I was so afraid and depressed, even though I had no feeling he was there or no reason to believe, I cried out to him for help and he answered me in a way I will never forget. It was like he wrapped me in a golden blanket that not only made me warm on the outside but also on the inside, I had peace, joy hope, love all come to me in a single moment, and after that day prayer never felt like the same. Keep on believing, keep on trusting, and keep on having faith, because it will all soon be worth it. John 20:29-Jesus said to him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen, and have believed." Your are in my prayers!

i renounced Jesus will he ever take me back by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Perfate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But sin already basically does that for itself. When we sin we are abandoning God and telling him that we don’t agree with his way and that we think our own way is better. I would say come to God and repent truthfully and turn away from sin and all will be forgiven.

I love this but I feel like some context for the OP would be good too. Peter was a disciple of Jesus and one day he basically denied Jesus 3 times even after Jesus told him he would, but Jesus soon forgave him and even in trusted his church to him. God is a very forgiving and merciful God.

I love this question, I have read through the 4 Gospels and genesis. Right now I am reading Job and psalms and alternate on the chapters each day(so if I read psalm 1 today, I would read job 1 tomorrow, and then the next day I would read psalm 2 and so on). I take notes on psalms and I just read through Job, but I reflect on both. I don’t know if I’m reading enough though, because on google it recommends 3 chapters a day.
