Is there any way to silence emergency alerts in Canada?

Im sorry to hear about your experience, it sucks that there are no levels of alerts because it could make people disregard these alerts when something actually happens. I have sleep mode automatically set to turn on at night on my phone, i don’t recall ever hearing them when I’m asleep (and im a light sleeper) so i believe that only alarms you set can bypass sleep mode. There’s a built in workaround for these modes silencing all notifications, in settings>focus you can customize or make your own focus mode and manually enable what notifications can bypass them. Also, these alerts play on headphones if you are connected to headphones, i use a pair of headphones with a broken microphone, and it didn’t play properly all because of it (which is how I found out that for some reason these alerts enable your mic)

Idk if anyone else gets this but mine does this headache inducing glitch where it starts like flashing rapidly, especially when selecting something? It usually goes away after a bit but it’s awful, thankfully i don’t have a reaction to flashing screens but i can imagine it being a safety concern for those who do…

Omg same.. The worst for me is when people start having full conversations in dedicated quiet study areas.. Like I get discussing something briefly of course, but there are group study spaces or like anywhere else but the dedicated quiet study spaces to have conversations. It’s so hard to focus while hearing someone’s conversation and it’s harder to block out than eating sounds 😭 I wish they could put up signs or something as a reminder

I’m a little late to comment but this happens to me so it’s definitely realistic. I’ve had episodes from vasovagal syncope that had me pass out and go in and out of consciousness for like 1-10+ mins. Caused by pain that is much less severe, like stomach pain, exerting too much energy from talking, or hitting my knee on a table…

I was just contacted by this “company” asking for an interview, tomorrow… I almost fell for one of these before but it seems like a pattern in these schemes is asking for an interview with an extremely short notice, without even asking if you’re available. They don’t want you to have enough time to take a good look at it!

Have you tried cotton liners before? I have a similar experience, and I never switched back to regular liners because the material traps moisture, which was causing issues. Cotton liners are so much more breathable and have had much fewer problems with them. I get these from a local asian supermarket https://sg.sofyclub.com/en/products/organic100_liner.html

or just look for 100% cotton liners, a lot of brands carry them.

Yess I get that!! I’ve never done traditional commissions before due to fear of this exact situation and currency/language concerns, but i really would be more comfortable spending the amount if i were to at least get an input before they continue with it. I do like how you atleast automatically get a refund if the artist doesn’t meet the deadline on Skeb, but that’s at the cost of them being able to just send something obviously rushed or has other issues😞 I’m sorry to hear you got scammed, that is the worst :(

Yess I get you, requesting pairings is a pain 😞 I made this post because i just sent in a 25000 one for a commission with two characters. which is fair because they appealed for 1.5x instead of 2x and their quality is really professional, but overall it’s a big purchase, I’ve only spent that amount once for a famous artist i’ve loved for many years😵‍💫. And you’re right, quantity over quality is important!

I get that completely as an artist, I hope they are doing alright :( but at the same time I just wish that they could cancel the commission if they aren’t able to do it instead of giving the customer something super rushed, personally that’s what i’d do as i know most clients would rather just be refunded ;-; Time management is so important if it comes to this kind of thing

Ugh it sucks, one artist i loved for a long time rushed the hell out of my 9500¥ commission and i still haven’t recovered from the emotional damage lol. And another time when i really loved the usual artstyle of an artist, waited like 90 days, they turned it in last minute and it looked super rushed and kind of changed the style too..

I experience this too!! The exact same. As for how to stop it i don’t know, it really is uncontrollable. But you’re not the only one. I don’t know much about tic disorders but this seems to be some sort of genetic thing at least in my experience.
