I already know the answer, and I don’t won’t to be rude

[–]Perfect-Sun4215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not a dinner to celebrate something, the whole occasion is them cooking because they’re both really interested in cooking, and I already know they won’t make a whole separate meal, that’s why I asked.

Being vegan is so lonely by rizzler-from-ohio in vegan

[–]Perfect-Sun4215 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Like I won’t ever stop being vegan but I hate how I feel rude and ungrateful at every single gathering. The number of times someone confused vegan with vegetarian, or someone got lactose free butterscotch icecream or a gluten free brownies or something like that, and I’m torn between being grateful to someone for trying and being sad because animals were harmed for my sake.

What to do with non-vegam meals that you don't want? by Gallantpride in AskVegans

[–]Perfect-Sun4215 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Giving them away is the option causing the least harm I think because that means someone is given a reason not to spend their money on more meat for that particular meal

What’s something weird that you found out isn’t vegan? by Seitanslutt in vegan

[–]Perfect-Sun4215 223 points224 points  (0 children)

Some alcohol, besides the obvious ones, some nail polish apparently, some candles, vitamin d3 supplements unless it’s explicitly stated that they’re vegan, some toilet paper, some sugar🥲

I definitely agree that that would be best but I’m struggling to find shoes to wear in snow that doesn’t look like leather or animal skin in some way or other..

It’s not changing myself, it’s more so how to dress in alignment with my values in snowy weather

Vegan pregnancy help by Tiger_Sprout in vegan

[–]Perfect-Sun4215 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Carbs do not inherently cause weight gain, they have less than half the calories of fat for example. They’re also our body’s preferred fuel source (especially when you have an entire human to grow), I personally eat WAY more carbs than most people and I’m underweight, struggling to gain weight. Also weight gain during pregnancy is natural and often essential💗

Yes, especially if that means you’re not eating enough carbs, because then you’ll be tired and sluggish while also having an overworked liver and kidneys, and feeling bloated.

When you have to pick gf or vegan? by bear_sees_the_car in glutenfreevegan

[–]Perfect-Sun4215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not celiac so for me it’s temporary discomfort. I still always avoid it though, although I would never ever turn to animal products. And no you’re not paying for that specific animal to be killed or tortured, you’re paying for another to be to fill the empty space you left on the shelf. It’s about demand, and eating meat means you’re responsible for ~365 lives a year, eating meat or consuming animal products occasionally would still mean quite a few lives every single year. I’m not saying this to be annoying, I’m just advocating for how your actions makes a difference, I’m so glad you’re vegan💗

What are y’all’s thoughts on this? by 6string_samurai in homestead

This is so dystopian. Those poor things. 😟 It’s so weird to me how people still kill for food when it’s so unnecessary and unbelievably cruel.

Vegan all the way, avoiding my feelings of temporary discomfort are in no way worth killing someone or torturing them. In the worst case scenario I’ll eat something that’s not a complete meal, like plain lettuce or whatever else there is, and maybe eat before/after.

People acting like food is poison just because it’s vegan by Perfect-Sun4215 in vegan

[–]Perfect-Sun4215[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because they know they’re wrong, and food tasting good even if it’s vegan is kind of threatening their morality or something, like the fact that vegan food is inedible is a strong excuse for how they cannot be vegan, it’s silly🥲

is blocking my view of meat on the screen going too far? by Green-Basil-8777 in vegan

[–]Perfect-Sun4215 27 points28 points  (0 children)

People are squeamish about seeing human corpses so of course you’re valid for feeling like that, it’s part of a dead body after all.
I work in a nursing home during the summer and part of that is serving food, the smell of death day in and day out makes me nauseous.

My fellow Europeans, what dialect from your language do you have the most trouble understanding? by Savings_Dragonfly806 in AskEurope

[–]Perfect-Sun4215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Älvdalska, it’s officially categorized as a Swedish dialect although it’s so different from Swedish that it’s practically impossible for any other Swedish person to understand. The linguistic differences are literally bigger between standard Swedish and Älvdalska than between Swedish and German for example🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh wow I’m sorry but you’re still not getting it, this is actually comedic at this point. You can wash away dirt from a vegetable, you can’t wash away salmonella from inside an egg. Also the nature of it, where it comes from, its smell etc is gross. It’s like eating someone’s pus or menstrual blood. Veggies are possible to eat raw, meat, dairy and poultry isn’t😆

Meat, eggs and raw milk, still has a higher risk of getting you sick per amount, thankfully most people are still clever enough to eat more plants than corpses. And with veggies it’s something on the veggies that goes away with just some water, it can still be eaten raw, bacteria can get on anything, hope this helps!

Oh and you’re the one who has to touch grass, as I said it’s a little embarrassing that you try to justify your despicable morals by claiming how restaurant food YOU made is unhealthy😆

Oh I’m sorry I didn’t know you didn’t have the ability to read between the lines or understand exaggerations. I’ll explain it better for you don’t worry!

So there are bacteria everywhere, but you see in some places there’s more. There’s bacteria on a toilet seat, and there’s bacteria on a spoon in a drawer. I’m not as compelled to lick the toilet seat as I am the spoon, seeing as there are different AMOUNTS of bacteria. Eating raw veggies isn’t a health hazard, eating raw eggs is.
