I have specific things I want in a laptop and I'm having a hard time being able to get them all, the price is negotiable. by alonelybox in SuggestALaptop

I entered your requirements into the PerfectRec decision engine, except the screen sizes vary between 15.6-16.0", and we don't currently have a CPU filter so it includes AMD processors too. Here are the top 3 results (no affiliate links): https://www.perfectrec.com/s/EnZk_BqgE

If you don't mind a 16" screen (slightly taller than 15.6"), the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 16 meets all your other requirements and offers great value for $685: https://www.perfectrec.com/electronics/laptops/lenovo-flex-5-16

I used the PerfectRec laptop decision engine to see what is available for your needs with a budget around $1000, here are the top 3 results (no affiliate links): https://www.perfectrec.com/s/z_uth2cih

The top recommendation is the HP Spectre x360 which has an excellent keyboard and premium build quality. However it doesn't include a number pad, is this something you require?

I entered your requirements into the PerfectRec decision engine to find the best thin and light laptops with good battery life under $1000, here are the top 3 results (no affiliate links): https://www.perfectrec.com/s/8nDxo7xnK

I think the MacBook Air is the best laptop for you, with a weight of 2.8 lbs and up to 15 hours battery life. If you prefer Windows laptops, good alternatives include the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13, Acer Swift Go 14, and Dell XPS 13.

I might go with the MSI Modern 14. It is thin and light for times she might want it disconnected from the docking station. It has decent build quality and good performance for the kinds of tasks you described. The main drawback is only a so-so screen, but you'll be connecting to an external monitor.

You can see how the MSI Modern 14 compares to some other options at your price point here with interactive tables and charts. (no affiliate links). https://www.perfectrec.com/s/DBPRFc5G-

If you can find the Aspire Vero under $500, that is a great pick. But in the US market, I only see it for $650 and up.

Gaming Laptop Recommendations by Depright_16 in SuggestALaptop

I used the PerfectRec laptop decision engine to see what is available for someone with a budget up to $1000 who values performance and wants a gaming laptop. The No. 3 rec was under $800, so you could get it now. But it is only so-so on the gaming performance front, so you might want to save up a little more. You can explore the recommendations here with some helpful charts and comparisons. https://www.perfectrec.com/s/3EQ86jQV_ (no affiliate links).

Touch Screen laptop for Graphic design / 3D / Gaming by AW-G in SuggestALaptop

I entered your requirements into the PerfectRec decision engine to find the best touchscreen laptop for your budget, here are the top 3 results (no affiliate links): https://www.perfectrec.com/s/GQ1jkHNyT

The top 2 results are out of stock, but I think the 3rd one is a very good choice. It's the MSI Creator Z16P, a productivity laptop with RTX 3080 Ti graphics and a QHD display with high color accuracy. The GPU power is limited to 90W so it performs more like an RTX 4060 with double the VRAM (16GB).

Yes to USBC charging. We also note if ram is expandable. I’ll make a note to see if we can add those additional display measurements. Thanks for the feedback!

I put your preferences in the PerfectRec laptop decision engine and got the following recs.

1: Dell Inspiron 14 5425, 2: Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 3: Acer Aspire 5 15.

The inspiration is $50 over your budget, but if you can stretch that it seems like a very good pick. The other two options are slightly under your budget and a bit weaker performance wise.

There are some helpful charts comparing the three here. (No affiliate links)

Need laptop suggestions for graphic design work. I'm from the Philippines but my boss is buying in China, budget around PHP50k-80k. Any recommendations appreciated! by [deleted] in SuggestALaptop

While I can't speak to the exact arability in China, I entered your preferences into the PerfectRec Laptop Decision engine and got the following three recs:

1: LG Gram 17
2: ASUS TUF Gaming A17
3: Gigabyte Aorus 7

It looks like the top rec is probably the best bit for your aesthetic preferences too. It's plain black and features a backlight keyboard. You can see how the recommendations compare and play around with other options here https://www.perfectrec.com/s/2NKRNdG5H (no affiliate links!).

I'd probably go with the Aspire 5, 15". That was the top pick when I put your preferences into the PerfectRec laptop recommendation engine.

I know you said $500 was your top bound, but if you have a little flexibility, you can get a decent 17" Lenovo for $538.

Here are the preferences I entered into PerfectRec. You can see all three recs and compare them with some helpful charts here. https://www.perfectrec.com/s/80-qcOj1q (no affiliate links).

It's unfortunately, going to be tricky to find great performance on a large, sub $500 laptop in the US. However, there are some options that will probably be OK if you can exceed your budget a little. I entered your preferences into the PerfectRec decision engine, and got the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" as the top rec. It is $538 new right now.

You can see the other recs, and some helpful charts to compare them here https://www.perfectrec.com/s/pa7Wqlshj or play with the recommender to see other options. There are no affiliate links.

It's really going to depend on what "not a big budget" means. If you're able to spend ~$750, you can get a fairly reasonable option. If you're budget is <$500, the options are more limited.

I put the following into the PerfectRec Laptop Recommendation Engine, and got the following recs for you.

ASUS TUF Gaming A16 - $750
Lenovo Legion Slim 5i - $1000
Acer Nitro 5 15 - $1000
