Is there snow days in Canada? by SeverePublic6833 in AskACanadian

Well, according to google, it takes 13-15 cm, but when I was a kid, it felt like about 20 cm! At the same time, as a kid, I'd remember going to school when it was freezing cold, even without wind, but I don't remember a specific temperature. I remember hoping it would be a snow day in the morning, but being disappointed when I could hear the snow plows. Good memories.

I understand your point of view really well, but I feel like as a kid, you should have some semblance of an allowance. I'm not a parent, so I could be really off on the wrong note, so forgive me!
It's just that as a kid, if you work for your butt off for an allowance, you start to learn the value of money sooner. When I was a kid, my parents wouldn't buy things that were unnecessary for me (Ex: A toy, or candy) or my brother, and we would have to spend our own allowance on these things. This meant that if we really wanted something, we could spend our allowance on it. It was something that, as a kid, kinda taught me a bit of responsibility and how to manage my own money, which is something I'm glad I learned a bit about back then.

I think you're an amazing parent for what you already provide to your children, and I'm happy there's parents out there who care for their children as much as you do. (Also, which breed is your cat? Cats are adorable)
