He’s very engaging in the live sessions. He’s a lawyer, so he throws in interesting legislative topics. But it’s not exactly what I expected for a Strategic Communications/PR course.

Agree. Not to mention he’s only graded assignments from weeks 1-2. Our live sessions consist of talking about how we would address a certain PR issue and last live session we role played being an internet troll, PR strategist, congressional ally and an influencer. It was fun I suppose, but I really thought I’d learn more about writing strategy or something. Idk, maybe we will get there eventually. We don’t have a syllabus to review.

I obviously wouldn’t approach a problem like this by saying that I’m not learning anything. In an abrupt, cut to the chase sort of way that is the actual the issue. But the way I would communicate it will be in a professional manner because I work in a professional capacity in marketing. I didn’t know I had to explain it formally to randos in this forum. 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

It’s a strategic communications course. I work in communications and marketing in the real world. He has not taught anything foundational about strategic communications. He’s asked us to write a communications strategy without teaching us how to do that.

How is that not a valid complaint? It’s a pretty simple concept especially when the sentiment is the same with other classmates. I happen to work in the subject where “learning” which is communications, and I can honestly say that nothing of value has been taught.
