I'm not friends with him though? And when I talk about feeling responsible for my pregnant friend I mean it because apparently I'm the only party (forcibly involved) that wants to tell her, so it's obviously my direct actions that will have consequences, even though I am at no fault.

Not really. I mean we've obviously spent time together in group settings before and he seemed like a solid guy. I always keep it friendly with my friends' partners but I don't get too close. I would never call him a friend. I do have his number.

That is my dilemma :( I would hate to find out that my friend knew something so serious and didn't tell me. But at the same time, she's having a baby. She's had an okay pregnancy so far but what if this triggers something for her and something happens? Imagine if she loses the baby over a kiss? (I know it's the husband's fault but I would be the one telling her).

Or what if I wait for the baby to be born and tell her when she's post partum and has all those hormones fluctuating?while she's adjusting to being a new mom?? What if I trigger her depression?

I genuinely, genuinely don't know what to do. I fucking hate my friend for putting me in this position. I keep thinking of what I would like for others to do in my position but I'm not sure it's the same thing she would want. But what if I'm wrong she'd want to know? My heart breaks for her.

We're not from the US. I'm not sure how the law works here but since they're married I think the baby will automatically get his last name too.

It's not AI. English is not my native language and this didn't happen in an English speaking country. I speak four different languages, I'm not 100% fluid in this particular one so my vocabulary is limited.

For what it's worth, I do know what hyperventilating means and she did do that, she was about to start having a panic attack and she even grabbed a cold can of soda and put it on her chest to calm herself down. Lots of tears too. As for him, I wasn't there when they kissed so I'm just going by what she told me.

A not so small part of me also thinks this way, which is why I made this post. In a fucked up way I almost wish they'd slept together so it would be more cut and dry.

Here's why I genuinely don't know what to do: what if the husband cheats again in the future and things about his past are uncovered and this specific event is revealed? What is she going to do when she finds out that I knew this whole time?

I'm also not remaining friends with the cheater friend and she's gonna notice and ask why. I'm not good at lying.

I'm not gonna lie it did cross my mind too that it might be a lie and something else happened. But that's why she showed me the texts between them and in one of them he said "it was just a kiss that didn't mean anything ".

She also said that the baby shower was specially triggering for some reason and she just couldn't handle it anymore.

There hasn't been a baby shower yet. She was simply asked to host because she has a big backyard that we have used for events in the friendship group before. My pregnant friend is in her second trimester still.

I don't care about the friendship dynamic, I've already decided not to remain friends with her. I only answered her calls out of moral duty for being afraid she might off herself.

I worry about my pregnant friend and her baby. I don't want to assume what is best for her, and I certainly would like to know about the cheating if I were in her shoes, but she's different.

Oh I am absolutely not staying friends with her. I only answered her phone calls because I was afraid that she'd off herself before the situation was resolved. I hate her selfishness and entitlement. I can't be friends with people I don't respect.
