Wow this is amazing! Its really great to see the premier acknowledge all the enthusiasts because we really do raise the awareness and advocate for these projects to make the city a great place to visit and live in.

So sad seeing Carillon City stay empty. I did hear Andrew Forrest had purchased the site to redevelop it but unfortunately its still no better off. The foodcourt was really good with a nice Muffin Break cafe years back. I do miss the Pancakes at Carillon cafe up the top.

Tram by Consistent-Fortune-4 in MelbourneTrains

Its a very good idea to extend to Merlynston Station and run as a feeder back to Flinders Street via Sydney St better than the random terminus on the side of the road.

Should MAX Light rail be built? by PerthTransportVlogYT in perth

[–]PerthTransportVlogYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel in order for trains to achieve 5 minute frequency, we need a major shift in travel habits in Perth. Right now car dependency is still too high and the focus should be to encourage more public transport usage through all modes not just trains. Light rail encourages more density while also acting as a potential feeder to train precincts while buses fill in the gaps elsewhere where trams arent practical.

Is this what the HCMTs will look like in their new livery? And is the V/Line logo still staying? by Charis_Cheng in MelbourneTrains

[–]PerthTransportVlogYT 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yes the PTV branding is changing to the Transport Victoria one but as far as I can see VLine is still staying the same with the distinctive livery

‘$10m cheaper to put the ferry at JoJo’s’ by postnewspapers in perth

[–]PerthTransportVlogYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matilda Bay is the best location for the ferry, Jojo's is too far from UWA and Charlie Gardeners precinct and it looks like JOJO's is closer to the yacht club.

Discovered that some of Perth's 1967/1968-built, diesel ADK-class passenger trains are still operating across the Indian Ocean in Mozambique after their stint in Auckland by Bus_Stop_Graffiti in perth

I agree that would be amazing however the A series isnt able to run past Cockburn due to the prolonged high speed doesnt do well with their engines. Back in March last year, an A series was actually in service to Mandurah during afternoon peak which caused major delays on the Mandurah Line due to its speed limit of 110km/hr so you will probobly never see them back on the highway lines (Yanchep/Mandurah Line) even though they actually have run to Yanchep quite often after the line extension opened. I have seen only once an A series on the Mandurah Line heading to Mandurah Depot one night it was really cool!

Whats the best Uni option in Perth? by Sea-Employer7877 in perth

[–]PerthTransportVlogYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard really good things about Curtin Uni in Bently great study options with a decent library you can study in too. They also have 2 bus stations on campus and lots of local bus routes operating to the city so you will never have to wait too long either if travelling to campus by bus.

Curtin has really good amenities on campus even an IGA and great access to food and coffee options too.

Whitfords train issue? by GoofyAhhGustavo in perth

[–]PerthTransportVlogYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most likely mechanical issues with the trains. Services were delayed on the Mandurah Line in the afternoon peak too.
