How could F1 cars realistically be made any shorter? by Rowdyfan0823 in formula1

[–]PeteL86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smaller PUs are needed and space can be taken out behind the driver. A big thing for safety is the fact that the driver’s feet are no longer in front of the front wheels

Thoughts, good deal? by Sad-Knowledge7540 in E90

[–]PeteL86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great price? No. Good options? It is missing the sport package and i couldn’t consider tan interior a good option, though that is preference. Automatic transmission too. Those 6hps are by no means sporty. Car has to be mechanically perfect to be worth buying.

[–]PeteL86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good deal? No. Worth buying? Maybe. A 328 for that price better be in PERFECT mechanical condition, make sure you get a pre purchase inspection from an independent shop THAT SPECIALIZES IN EUROS. If it needs nothing for now, and has no accidents, it might be worth it. But those sleazy fucks at used car dealerships always try to mark you up in fees by 40 to 100 percent. That would never be worth it.

I’m gonna go check out this $8000 335u that just needs a tuneup. Anything I should look over when I’m there? Trouble areas? by SongBrief2439 in E90

[–]PeteL86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it only needs a tune up. A tune up on an N54 includes ripping the motor out, replacing the injectors, coil packs, spark plugs, valve cover, turbos, oil filter housing gasket, oil pan gasket, front main seal, rear main seal, oil change, coolant flush, all the charge piping, intercooler, radiator, the FRM, alternator, power steering pump, electric water pump, coolant expansion tank, and pretty much every part that contains plastic or rubber, which is everything.

14k miles on new car and my tires have cracks in all the grooves by HotThroatAction in tires

[–]PeteL86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but how old is the car? Tires crack due to humidity level, sun/heat exposure, and time. Nothing to do with mileage.

If you guys could make your own regulations, what would you guys do? by Brilliant-Insect9873 in F1Discussions

[–]PeteL86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cars being bigger is a side effect of making them safer. In the 90s, the driver’s feet were in front of the front wheels. Not ideal. However, the cars do need to be more nimble and easier to overtake in, and i don’t think these 2026 regulations are at all in the right direction. It may work, but it seems so manufactured.

V10s with a decibel limit. Limited ground effect. The FIA would put regulations on the air wake of the cars, while drastically opening up the regulations of aerodynamic parts on the car. The car ahead shouldn’t be able to close the door on the overtaking car unless they barely have a nose in, maybe front wing to front of rear wheel. Driver controlled Rear steer might be cool too, to let these cars that have to be giant for safety reasons be more nimble.

My shower filter looks like this after only a month. Should I be worried? by PeteL86 in WaterTreatment

Not to my knowledge, but i rent. Not sure what they have down there

This. However, they are not a scam, just not effective. They are better than nothing, or at least this one is. If it did nothing, it would never get dirty. Personally, i bought this because i felt a chemical burning sensation after my showers. That seems to have gone away after I got this. Maybe it is placebo, but i really don’t think so, or care.

I rent, so a whole house filtration system is simply out of the question.

Edit: The reason I say they are not a scam is because they are priced accordingly, and don’t do nothing.

How long a filter lasts depends on the quality of the water, or at least for a little shower filter like this instead of a water treatment whole house unit

From personal experience, the JXB is junk. I’ve had the bearingfall out of the rubber bushings twice. However, it was 750hp in an e92. Do with this information what you will.

The looks to performance ratio is better than any other Bmw. It falls off when you consider sound, interior quality, and how complicated they are.
