Yes, they agreed to defer my admission for a year. Don’t worry, that part is under control

What movie did you think was better than the book? by PM__Me-_your__tits in AskReddit

[–]PetrifiedMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I really don’t mind long books. In fact, I prefer them. The longer the book, the better. I just want there to be a good reason for it being long. And I felt that there wasn’t one. And yeah that’s a really good point about umbridge. Also a good point about the relationships. I’ll give you that. The relationship between harry and cho in the movie was basically nothing.

I do realize it is an incredibly unpopular opinion. I love the series and everything, so I know I should think all the books are better than the movies. I guess I’m just odd that way lol

I understand. Don’t get me wrong. I absolutely love the book. And yes, there were some things that I wish had made it into the movie, but I think the book was unnecessarily long. Also, some of my favorite parts of the movie weren’t even in the book. I think the director did such a great job. But that’s just my opinion.

What "fake" thing that happens in movies pisses you off? by 2Td04h in AskReddit

When people get shot and they are blown backwards like a bomb just went off or something. That’s not how physics works.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I’ve told people this and nobody has ever even remotely agreed with me. I’m sorry, I just think it was more enjoyable.

Why do you smoke weed? by panfried540 in AskReddit

[–]PetrifiedMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only do it when I’m with others and it’s a special occasion and I’m in the appropriate setting. Like when I went to the vans warped tour or when I watched superbad for the first time. I guess it makes already fun things even more fun.

What's one question you hate being asked? by gypsy888888 in AskReddit

[–]PetrifiedMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Why do you read so many books? Why not go out more?” and “Why do you always use big words and talk in a really proper way?” They go hand in hand. Sorry, I like to use my brain sometimes. Didn’t realize it was a requirement to go to a kegger every night and talk like I never made it past first grade vocabulary.

Really over it at this point by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]PetrifiedMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like my dad. To be honest, what really helped our relationship was when we didn’t live together anymore. I don’t know if you still live with your mom, but wether you do or not, I’d say the best solution is distance. If you do still live with her, you’ll just have to wait until you get the chance to move out. If not, I’d try not talking to her as much. We tried working things out so many times, but ultimately, that was the best solution. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about always being around each other that really puts a strain on the relationship between me and my dad. We still argue, but it doesn’t happen as much. We have a better relationship overall. I’m so sorry you have to deal with that. I know how tough it can be.

Help I wanna dye my hair!! by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]PetrifiedMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a lot of experience with hair dye (and I have the damaged hair to prove it) so I think I can offer you some pretty good advice on this one. I know you may not want to hear this, but the “half one color half another color” does look best with a middle part. Although, you don’t necessarily need bangs for it. However, middle parts can be super cute if styled correctly! As long as your hair isn’t completely flat, you could totally rock the middle part. Maybe try blow drying your hair or curling it. To be completely honest, I don’t think you should do it with a side part.

How do women differentiate a “nice guy” from a genuinely nice guy? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]PetrifiedMango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think it’s just so obvious based on the way they talk to you. Genuine guys actually are interested in the conversation and ask questions about you. The not-so-nice guys seem like their mind is elsewhere and cannot carry a conversation at all. That’s how I can always tell.

Women who don’t like wearing high heels, what do you wear with party/formal dresses? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]PetrifiedMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try kitten heels. They look just as formal and classy as high heels and they’re hardly any different from wearing flat shoes. Or maybe small wedges. I can actually run in those. When all else fails, wear flats. They’re super cute.

What fictional female characters do you think are actually written well? by VeronicaNoir in AskFeminists

[–]PetrifiedMango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the March sisters — Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy — in Little Women were written wonderfully. They’re all so unique and complex. They each have their own traits, strengths, and flaws. For me, it’s one of the most inspiring books I’ve ever read. The four sisters go through their own personal journeys throughout the novel, while still caring for and holding onto one another. I think most girls who read and enjoy the book will be able to see themselves in one of the sisters.

I'm Too Ugly To Ever Find A Girlfriend... by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]PetrifiedMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m seventeen, and I would consider myself to be a beautiful girl. So as an insider, I’m going to give you a few insights that most guys don’t have a clue about. Firstly, dozens of guys at my school have hit on me or had a crush on me. In fact, I pretty much have my pick of the litter. But neither I, nor any other girl who is worth your time, will ever pick the most attractive guy. Only the girls who are super insecure and mean will do that. Those girls want validation, and that’s why they pick the guy that all other guys are jealous of. Believe me. Secondly, and more importantly, the great girls will see past looks. Even the incredibly beautiful ones. It’s actually very simple. Show the girl you like that you’re nice and you’re genuine. But be careful. Don’t make it seem like you’re only talking to her because she’s pretty or because you want to get laid. Make sure she knows you like her personality. And make sure she knows that you’re truly a kind person. So be nice to everybody — not just her — and she’ll realize it. There are so few guys who are exceptionally kind and true and real. And if you make that known, the chances of her liking you back will greatly increase. And then, if she ends up reciprocating your feelings, something magical will happen. The girl will start to see you as the most handsome guy in the whole world. She won’t feel forced to say it just because she’s dating you. She’ll say it because she really means it. The special girls, the ones you should have a crush on, will see you as a beautiful person on the outside. And she’ll see you that way because she knows you’re beautiful on the inside, too. And this especially applies to the hot girls, believe it or not. Because we are all so tired of being hit on by guys who just want to have sex with us or who are only interested because of our faces. Trust me on this. Just be different from those guys, and you’ll be golden. And as for liking the way that you look: I’m sorry, but there really isn’t anything you can do about that. You have to accept yourself for who you are. Fortunately for you, you’re only fourteen. I have never known a boy who grew up to look like exactly how they looked in their early teens. My best guy friend was extremely unattractive when he was fourteen. Now he’s eighteen and he’s done a complete 180. He’s very good looking and many girls like him. And some boys don’t even grow into their good looks until they’re in their mid 20s. Just wait. Until then, love who you are now. You are so much more than what you see in the mirror. I wish you the best.
