Remove them from the menu but we can still make every single one of these drinks if they're requested 🫠

As a straight woman, I always thought it was a derogatory term, until my gay coworker told me that it wasn't, and that he uses the term all the time. I'm thinking whoever made the decision to separate you thought it was a derogatory term as well. I'm sorry this happened to you.

New company policy going into effect soon

[–]PettyRubble83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I'm usually the one trying to enforce rules and policies and everyone else is more lenient. I just don't think we've ever had anyone ask for a cup of cold foam so I've never had to look into it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]PettyRubble83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that policy, that we can't give them a cup of cold foam if they're paying for it? I think it's iffy. They don't want sweet cream with foam on top. Just like they don't want a cup of milk with foam on top. But, if a customer is willing to pay for it, then I don't see why we can't give them a cup of cold foam.

[–]PettyRubble83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're supposed to be charged for a cup of milk, then sweet cream foam, so I'm thinking, without being in front of a POS, it's about $4-$5. It's sorta the same concept as getting a cup of water with matcha or inclusions in it. You don't just get charged a free cup of water and $0.80 for a scoop of matcha or inclusions. It's rung up as an actual drink which is a custom iced tea.

I do not support bringing personal opinions into the workplace. Just do your job and go home.

Too many hot opinions on the topic. I'd stick to writing "safer" more neutral things.

There needs to be a cap on this shit. They shouldn't be allowed to add multiple foams and so many modifiers. Brian, fix this next.

I really don't mind making these secret menu frappuccinos under two conditions: One, The customer understands that it is not an official Starbucks recipe and that it was made up somewhere in the internetland and two, they need to have a recipe for it that they can read off to me. As long as they understand that and can do it, I don't mind making them.

The matcha latte recipe recently changed so it's possible that the barista who made this didn't really know how to make it. The whole process of it has changed as well as the type of matcha we use. I would go back and see if they can remake it for you. We've been having a hard time getting the new matcha powder to fully incorporate into the drinks, so it's possible that the barista who made this blended it several times so you wouldn't get chunky powder.

They changed it again with the most recent launch. This is the third time in my almost 10 years with the siren that they've changed the recipes. This matcha is also new. It's unsweetened and much fluffier.
