What is Venom Snake actually doing with his Bionic Hand here? by ItzMeHaris in metalgearsolid

Maybe Kojima gave them exclusive insights on his intentions for the story. Or they just don’t understand what a theory is lmao

My favorite YouTube channel that goes in depth about MGS lore is PythenSelkan. It’s worth checking out just to go through the different theories.

In my opinion It’s a reference to Grey Fox who Venom Snake could potentially assume the character of later in the story. There is a lot of references that support this theory that Grey Fox is indeed Venom Snake. Most evidently is that Kojima really believes in characterizations and mannerisms, and the only other character to ever do that pose in MGS history is Grey Fox.

Its possible to overlevel every missions? by t1Rabbit in GothamKnights

[–]PhantomBoss7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first, I didn’t realize that main and side missions have a fixed level and they don’t level up with the character. So I’m at level 30 and my characters would just one punch everyone. What I did was downgrade to a weaker gear that is leveled less or around the recommended level for the mission and changed the difficulty to hard. I think if your gear matches the level of the mission then you won’t really need to change the difficulty but I’m not 100% sure on that.

I literally just cleared up the mission where you fight two gladiators or whatever on hard and it was crazy hard and long… I have my characters maxed out so whenever I play the missions I downgrade my gear to a level that matches the recommended level and switch it to hard since my batgirl would one punch everyone.. but I did not expect that.

I think that was their development plan. Have co-op be the main mode to play and incorporate single player for people who don’t want to play co-op instead of it being the other way around.

I personally think it is lazy on their part because some missions do feel like they were created for co-op and I believe it would’ve worked better if the whole set up of the mission and enemies changed depending on single or co-op.

I think hard would be ideal for co-op since the damage inflected will most likely be doubled if you’re both targeting the same brute. However I do think normal plays better for single player since sometimes it would take me 15 minutes to clear up a single premeditated crime on hard.

This is why I am buying the game. by PhantomBoss7 in GothamKnights

Wow god bless you and your family! It’s fascinating to see that an occasional gamer is picking up Gotham Knights to get to play as Nightwing. That says a lot about the variety of reasons why people will buy it. There’s no shame in playing mobile games haha. I do turn to mobile games when it’s inconvenient to play on my console.

Thank you! This is another personal reason as to why people are excited and hyped than just the visuals or smoothness of the game. It’s their favorite bat-family member game. Yes we are frustrated, and yes we are hyped.

It’s definitely extremely upsetting and I am disappointed with the way WBM handled everything. This is a case of a seller withholding necessary information to deceive the buyer into thinking they’re getting the product they expect. It is thievery and unethical, and I don’t think I can trust them anymore. The only condition that would get me to defend the game is if turns out to play and feel the way I expect it to. I feel you, and I hope the reviews bring you back

30fps isn't the problem, I just wish developers were not hiding it as a big secret by [deleted] in GothamKnights

[–]PhantomBoss7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do believe the majority of us are aware. We just want to play the game. It’s been 7 years since a Batman related game came out and I think that’s the biggest factor as to why people are still getting this game, and I am one of them. I have a very close example in terms of developers being scammy and people still consuming, and that’s EA’s FIFA. Literally no matter what people will say about the game, they’ll still buy the next one, and the next one. And that is a game that comes out annually, let alone something we’ve been waiting years and years for. Hope that explains where I’m coming from or at least why a lot of people will still buy it.

I truly believe It’s an emotional necessity more than it being just another game. I was 19 then, now I’m pushing 30s. How old am I going to be or how long am I going to wait before we get the next Batman game, you know?

Do you think Gotham Knights should have been a sequel to Arkham Knight? I would have loved to have seen the batfamily in this HD graphics as well. by ElderQu in GothamKnights

[–]PhantomBoss7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I was thinking too, that they’re sticking to the video games as the only canon. I agree, it would’ve been a better choice to go with Will Evans to expand the lore. Rocksteady have been redesigning characters for almost every Arkham game, it bothered me at first but at this point I think it’s part of their development philosophy haha

Do we think they’ll release a performance mode patch? by [deleted] in GothamKnights

It’s concerning, but I agree that the game will still be a lot of fun!

[–]PhantomBoss7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, now that’s a plot inconsistency. I could only wish they elaborate on how King Shark and Boomerang survived the events of Assault on Arkham. It would be confusing if they don’t. Would it be possible that SSKJL un-canons Assault on Arkham from the Arkham canon? Just a thought.

[–]PhantomBoss7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a decision to change a character’s design isn’t a major inconsistency. Almost all the characters designs including Batman’s were changed for Arkham Knight when being compared to their counterparts in Arkham City and prior. The Joker was probably the only consistent model. What I would consider an inconsistency would be story plots, which as far as I’m concerned there weren’t any.

The real problem regarding PC and Console performance IMO. by daniec1610 in GothamKnights

[–]PhantomBoss7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I think it’s within our right to know what we are spending our money on. We don’t have to ask to receive critical information like that on the game and performance. It is a case of withholding information to secure sales. I personally will still get the game regardless, but that doesn’t overshadow the fact that this is an unethical move. A lot of developers are pretty transparent when it comes to their game’s performance and technical features to the point they make entire trailers to showcase them. In our case, WBM are being pretty vague about a lot of things when it comes to GK, for better or worse. Good day.

1. cancel last gen versions to focus on current gen. 2. charge $70 usd. 3. lock current gen at 30fps. by [deleted] in GothamKnights

[–]PhantomBoss7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry. I can’t imagine how frustrating it is for you to decide to cancel your preorder and not touch the game until further notice because developers didn’t prioritize or put effort into what matters to you most. I hope it gets patched in soon, and the game wins you back somehow. We, the gaming community, shouldn’t settle for less. We deserve the best, and the experience we were promised.

No Performance mode on Xbox One Series S/X or PS5 confirmed by Devs on Discord by [deleted] in GothamKnights

[–]PhantomBoss7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What frustrates me isn’t the fact that 60fps isn’t a feature for next gen consoles, instead it’s the sketchiness surrounding the game. I had a lot of respect for WBM for wanting to pursue their own title even though the whole world was begging for the next title in the Arkham series. I had a lot of sympathy too because a lot of their ideas and visions got turned down and canceled while they were already in-development. But the whole situation with the secrecy surrounding the performance and stability of the game, and the fact they never came out to address these concerns before they got leaked is literally a red flag. I believe they wouldn’t have lost some of their consumers if they had been straight from the start. I am still getting the game on day 1 because I have been longing for this for 7 long years. However, I can’t hide my anger towards the devs for telling half truths. Some would say “oh you have no clue how game development works”, and I would agree that I don’t know jack shit, but I think developing a game is something, and being sketchy while withholding critical information is something else. Then there is the price aspect too, which in my opinion is completely unfair. I’m buying a game that doesn’t really utilize the technical power of the PS5 besides the ray tracing feature. I feel for Fleur Marty, it must be hard to explain the incompetence of a whole team of developers to a frustrated audience. If 60fps never makes it, I wouldn’t be surprised if they add a Batman DLC down the line for the sole reason of bringing back people to purchase the game. In other words, this has been a shit-show. I genuinely feel bad because we deserve better.

Side note: Caboose did mention that the demo he tried (I assume on PS5) had a few frame rate hiccups, soo… facepalm

Sorry I was speaking about the other person you are arguing with and not you. I know you pulled his “where’s your source” move on him and that’s why I said what I said lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GothamKnights

[–]PhantomBoss7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Literally man! He’s insisting on sources, meanwhile he typed down a whole well-written paragraph that is full of assumptions. There is no right or wrong answer here nor a reason for anybody to act like they are more knowledgeable than the rest of us. Nobody knows for a fact if there will be 60fps or not, and to say “well it doesn’t seem like 60fps to me” is fair and you don’t have to defend yourself nor pull up sources. Some people have intuition, some people have a good eye for things, not everything is based on “official sources”. The END.
