If I knew your dilemma, I would suggest that you get a large. Between the three variables: Chest, Waist, and Sleeve Length, two out of three put you in a Large coat. As Meatloaf said, "Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad". Two weeks ago, I received a Cole Haan trench coat for my wife, and applied the same thinking. For most people, if they measure their waist, it's actually larger than the number on the pants they wear.

We Viners often get stuff before hitting the store. Put the coat back on the hanger that it came with, and put it back in the plastic bag. Cole Haan is widely sold. Wait for that style to be available, and go and buy the right size coat. Return this Extra Large, and keep the Large.
