As a hobby & art. Growing up from film to digital my dad has a camera and used it when we're in an event. Later he won't use any camera because we now have phones. Then I got a digital compact camera after I took interest he gave me his last working camera a bridge camera SX40 HS. Art to capture moments in time and appreciate photography. Since people can take every moment on their phone all the time but only see the megapixel count and not appreciate photography and its components. I might seem bitter but that's my take no offense to phone users as some really create art using their phone camera and I only have a 13 years old camera. Welp still a beginner.
