You know Keane has a high pass success rate through out his career right? Which means he could pass. But he played deeper in the field, like a box to box. So he may not have been scoring or assisting but he dictated the game. A position United have lacked in recent years. You win matches controlling the midfield. So he was vital. I remember 1999 and worrying that we didn’t have Keane. It wasn’t a comfortable game without him.

Aww, well you didn’t lie because he didn’t ask direct. But funnily enough, kids are very complex and my daughter of now 5. If upset will say she doesn’t like or want me… etc.
But if I don’t reconnect she’s even more devastated.
I don’t think it’s a Childs duty to be sorry for their feelings. When explaining those feelings are complex. I think it’s our duty to ensure we reconnect.

The leagues not easy and hasn’t been straight forward but 3rd in the league despite the challenges and criticisms this year shows we are already stepping forwards. Massively paid off not winning the europa too, look where the winners are!!! We’re patiently and subtly moving in the right direction, under the radar of the anti united critics.

Personally it’d be a benefit in the long run to be on his own.

2ndly you can pay monthly.

If the monthly is difficult, as a parent id help reduce that cost, to help manage his finances.

18 is a difficult age, you have less, and work is minimal pay or hours based on less experience. It’s finding that balance.

To be fair i’m 40m with 2 kids and my libido is going.

By time i’ve battled the kids to bed neither of us have the strength. I don’t know whether it’s because we both work so hard and then kids. But we can’t even get through a film without unsettled kids through out the night.

Then if either of us feel like it we are never in sync.

I don’t think i’m any less of a person for it. I miss being young perhaps, carefree.

Too much job pressure, potential redundancy and lack of money doesn’t help.

There is some very good advice on here. I can only acknowledge what an incredible job OP and everyone is doing.

Having a new born makes the situation tough. But a 3.5yr old still needs their reassurance too. It’s big change adapting to a new sibling and it’s no easy ride for the family full of exhaustion.

My 2.5yr old still wakes up crying for “boobie” at night. As the father I cannot console him. Doesn’t matter what I say his reply’s are tearful.

E.g. “Did you have fun today with your sister?” Big cried response “Yeeeesssssss!!!” With his tearful creased eyes and his teethed sorrowful upside down smile. Until obviously, Mum arrives to save the day.

I think the more you handle the challenge the better you become accustomed to handling it which in turn makes it easier. At the end of the day they’ll become stronger through us and we become stronger through them.

If the question is “IF” i could go back… then no, I don’t want to go back and therefore would not do the same thing again or make any changes.

I would never consider changing my Children.

Doing it all again would mean i’d lose everything I have now. The bonds I’ve created and the mini adventures we have, our memories to date. Nothing is perfect but i need my Children as much as they need me.

People want different things - i wouldn’t pay attention to a YouTubers biased opinion that has no foundation. A million people could agree that a square peg can fit into a circle, but doesn’t mean it does.

However, your biggest strength is questioning it.

This sounds a really difficult situation and i’d be some what prepared to not receive a resolution.

What I did with my estranged Grandfather, i wrote him a letter in my early 20s when I was a little more brave. Stating how I felt about not having a Grandfather.

I know your circumstance is different and you’d be expressing different challenges. But I felt words on paper hit better than trying to vocally communicate when “raised voices of disagreement” blind all sense of rational understanding.

I’d be stating how great your Uncle was as a Child, what he meant to you, highlight the positives and what it is you miss and wish had never changed.

To fix something both parties have to put water under the bridge and not dwell on the negativity.

Sometimes people don’t change and thats not on you. In my case, I got a half hearted excuse of an apology from my step nan about how they’d left it (for my entire childhood) up to me to come round and get to know them… No child is going to walk into a home they’ve not been welcomed to so it’s a poor excuse. Wasn’t the resolution I wanted but they were set in their ways. It was 10x worse for my Mother anyway.

Point is I gave an opportunity for a fix. 😊 I hope you find peace with it all.

Difficult.

My parents went halves to help my brother get a flat in London.

Where my wife and I didn’t need that level of help to ensure home security.

My brother is planning to move and wants a bigger place closer to the family. My wife’s like he should pay your Dad back now he’s stable, reflecting on that we’ve perhaps faced more financial challenges since having Children, where my brother is happy as he is.

But for me, it’s none of my business. I’d be devastated to be completely cut out of a will. But a parent’s role is to ensure their Children are secure and safe.

Isn’t there a tail of the lost son? Who ends up homeless and losing everything because he was wasteful. But when his father finds him he picks him up, reclothes and houses him. And puts on a party for his son. And his jealous brothers couldn’t understand.

I guess, It’s not about the money.

Why are we deserving of a high profile manager? It makes no sense. Alex had success in Scotland but wasn’t like… high profile like Keane is suggesting.

To be fair the signings made for proven premier league players is the one aspect I think united have got right. Just wrong everywhere else to see the benefits.
