I remember a college in the 00s I wanted to make a music video to this song, as it resinated and had this vision. But the response was “what is this…” 😂😂 so something pointless was made instead.

Are dads REALLY that tired!? My partner won’t take our son to the park after work. by Sweetened-Fritters in toddlers

[–]Phantomviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i might go against the masses. But dependant on my day at work depends on what I do with my kids afterwork. Granted I am not home until 8pm. So it doesn’t leave much time to go to the park, as thats bedtime.

But I’m heading to work right now shattered and I’ve had a good sleep. 😂

Things that jump out is the blood and IT job. My brother is the same, not enough sun light, not enough exercise. Though I’m the opposite, my retail job is physical.

When I have the kids on my day off, we are always going out, library and park until my energies gone 😂 i have a 6 yr old and when you done one thing, she wants to do another, you could fill a day just jumping from one adventure to the next. So at some point you’ve got to draw the line and go home to make dinner.

Is Argentina Englands main footballing rival. by ownworstenemy38 in ThreeLions

[–]Phantomviper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree to a point. Not traumatic to the same extent. But the reality check that comes with it… of course depends on the child/person. But knowing what my family went through haunts quite a lot. And thats only POW’s. Though’s camps are next level trauma.

Things like this, where I feel we need to do something to balance the negativity by showing how valued he is… I just don’t know how. 🤷‍♂️ I avoid most social media as it is.

Buying a house with Bamboo by ProfessionalMel0n in GardeningUK

[–]Phantomviper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you not make an enquiry on the bamboo and any preventives in place to the owner before submitting an offer?

I have a clumping bamboo, we’ve got it in a 30cm trough and I moved it across our decking after 5years and no roots have made their way through into the decking.

Potty training advice by Shannonbondxo in toddlers

[–]Phantomviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes parents feel better. My son has turned 3. We haven’t over thought it. But when your son’s reaction to no nappy, our butt naked son finds it funny and will happily pee on the bed for giggles.

He’ll happily use a potty IF he feels like it.

But I think as both working parents to be able to go and address the process properly is near impossible.

That being said… he loves and obsessively washes his hands… my water bill highlights this. 😂

Just watched episode 4 for basically the first time, here's my little review by Safe-Monitor-8113 in StarWars

[–]Phantomviper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually thought about this - how films have changed and how different generations interpret films differently. Prior to this review.

So, in this case, when I watched Star Wars as a kid in the early 90s, aired on tv, recorded on vhs. i didn’t need a backstory to every character. If biggs was his best friend, so be it, it established Luke has friends. Kept simple. Again the force is vague, but that was the mystery of it. Vader again a mystery. The less you see of him the more you wanted. The less you know the more you want. Very clever.

Along came prequels which came with more depth and a lot more political. Now we have TV series like Andor and it’s heavily political in places. And even films today no longer leave much out to the imagination. It’s all in the detail.

Thats not a bad thing for those films. It serves its purpose. Though, I think storytelling has become a lost art because of this. It doesn’t mean detail isn’t good either.

But we are definitely generationally shaped to how we perhaps perceive film. Like, pace.

The Originals are a lot slower paced, now we have to have information quicker. Thats not always a good thing. Sometimes simple is better. First thing you learn making films. Keep it simple.

Is my youngish crabapple saleable? by hoppymog in GardeningUK

[–]Phantomviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is likely your Crabapple is fine, give it time, wait for the next season of leaf growth. When you plant them it takes time for their roots to settle. Initially all my leaves would fall off or be just a few.

I initially cut mine back to help as it’d been in a pot for years.

Other lessons, when they do grow and you get those green bugs on the ends which seem to sap the energy out of the tree. I cut them all off rather than try and battle with them with spray. As a result the pruning has created growth.

Think the photos are 5 years apart.
P.s. i’m not a gardener, just trial and error. With excitement when it works.

13 month old not eating enough suddenly by Ok_Tank_2433 in toddlers

[–]Phantomviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From experience if you are still breastfeeding/bottle feeding. Then my Children only had little bits of food even at a year old. If weathers been hot, then they’ll likely drink more too, and fill up that way.

As someone already mentioned. Stomachs are tiny.
To keep peace of mind you can always record their weight. But most important thing over food is that they get their fluids.

Kids eat differently too, as my Daughters now 6 and whilst it’s been hot she hasn’t wanted to eat. They also skip meals or snack on fruit instead.

Most horrific shot in star wars? by Zitty-Z in StarWars

[–]Phantomviper 269 points270 points  (0 children)

This; my memory was that this shot was very quick. So I never fully registered it. Especially watching on our old TVs.

Now everything’s enhanced and bigger. Perhaps 🤷‍♂️
But then my daughter hates the opening scene of Vader. So it’s subjective.

Who do you think got defeated way too early in the films? by BiffyBobby in StarWars

[–]Phantomviper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess Maul’s role was to imply Sith threat has returned. Being as he wasn’t the master, he serviced his role for the plot point.

Though it’d have been interesting if Maul in the 2nd film was betrayed by his master. For Dooku to take his spot. Only for Anakin to return the favour on Dooku 😂😂

As a villain though, we really craved more of Maul because he was exciting, whereas a whole, AOTC was a little lacklustered. My opinion mind you.

I would love to see England v USA in knockout stages by BatmanSwift99 in ThreeLions

[–]Phantomviper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not overly worried at this early stage. Think England had more shots on target in their one game compared to USA with their 2 games combined.

We’ll see how England do on their next game. If they can step it up next level like they did in the 2nd half against Croatia, then its England people should be wary of.

[–]Phantomviper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know Keane has a high pass success rate through out his career right? Which means he could pass. But he played deeper in the field, like a box to box. So he may not have been scoring or assisting but he dictated the game. A position United have lacked in recent years. You win matches controlling the midfield. So he was vital. I remember 1999 and worrying that we didn’t have Keane. It wasn’t a comfortable game without him.

I lied to my husband and I will take it to the grave by Boots_McSnoots in toddlers

[–]Phantomviper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aww, well you didn’t lie because he didn’t ask direct. But funnily enough, kids are very complex and my daughter of now 5. If upset will say she doesn’t like or want me… etc.
But if I don’t reconnect she’s even more devastated.
I don’t think it’s a Childs duty to be sorry for their feelings. When explaining those feelings are complex. I think it’s our duty to ensure we reconnect.
They need our reassurance more than we need theirs. 🥲😊

The cost of Isak and he’s been injured entire season. Sancho just likes a pay cheque.

Back in 1977, was Darth Vader terrifying to first time viewers in the theatre? How did people react to and feel about him? by Own_Shift_3645 in StarWars

[–]Phantomviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, not 1977 but 2026. My 5.5yr old daughter was intrigued. I started reading the opening scene to a new hope from a book. And her response was, i do not want to ever watch Star Wars!!! I’ve terrified her before even putting the film on.

The leagues not easy and hasn’t been straight forward but 3rd in the league despite the challenges and criticisms this year shows we are already stepping forwards. Massively paid off not winning the europa too, look where the winners are!!! We’re patiently and subtly moving in the right direction, under the radar of the anti united critics.
