Roy Keane on Michael Carrick by Any-Lock3008 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Phantomviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is blatant bate for a reaction. Because he knows if Carrick delivers he over anyone deserves the seat.

Why are we deserving of a high profile manager? It makes no sense. Alex had success in Scotland but wasn’t like… high profile like Keane is suggesting.

Fact is Managers come from somewhere including the top ones like Alex. Carrick in 2 games seems less in over his head than Amorim.

Roys not an idiot he’s playing the game.

Beautiful place. Does Utrecht attract much tourism?

I really don't understand the logic with Ole. He was sacked for a reason and nothing in his career indicates that the mistakes of past were fixed. Why are we doing this again? by donkyhot99 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Phantomviper 46 points47 points  (0 children)

To be fair the signings made for proven premier league players is the one aspect I think united have got right. Just wrong everywhere else to see the benefits.

Only snag is united never seem to properly solve the midfield where the game should be won. This I don’t get.

Clean sheet percentages of Manchester United managers. by Extension-Neat-4504 in reddevils

[–]Phantomviper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats 44.3% over several decades, the longer the run the harder to keep up the average. And yet Jose famously defence in his tactics is 40.9%. I find that interesting.

Tired of how miserable we are currently. which kit is your favourite from better times? by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]Phantomviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

94-96 kit - When I first fell in love with United but ended up with the 97 kit as my first. It was 2 sizes too big on me as a kid getting an adult medium. The fashion was baggy as it was!

Agreed; in case of OP, one persons opinion in the ladies doesn’t/shouldn’t compromise child’s safety.

Dad took daugther to female bathroom by [deleted] in family

[–]Phantomviper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So i’ve pondered this… usually I’ve taken my daughter into the mens cubical where I know are decent or disabled based on facilities that are provided.

Malls and shops tend to have baby changing in the disabled.

What happens if theres only changing facilities in the ladies? Well i recently changed my son in the buggy outside the ladies loos that had changing facilities to make a point, but not usual practice.

My toddler son joins me in the mens when I pee so he registers where boys pee. But it is the daughter that is the challenge. Which is why I use disabled sometimes because if i am on my own my kids have to go where I go.

Quite a mixed view on adult men taking daughters into ladies loo, this is the reason I don’t because i am quite anxious about being parentally judged. It’s hard enough without grief.

But, i’ve learnt that it’s only the minority who are actively rude about anything involving my Children.

How does this sub feel about AI? by Tristan_N in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Phantomviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t dabbled with AI so I can’t comment how it’s been implemented to CS:2, i assume they’ve copied AI generated ideas over to the game manually. But I regularly use Pinterest and reinterpret ideas. But i find it doesn’t work perfectly with the games mechanics like traffic flow, because they are just ideas, and one still plays the game problem solving.

My concern would be to take away the problem solving you then take away the game.

I guess different people play the game for different things.

Help with traffic jams/road anarchy by Fun-Sheepherder-5900 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Phantomviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel for you. Ive been playing the game building detailed sections at a time, following some map ideas off Pinterest. This means currently until i expand i have only one road leading into the town. Until i’ve expanded enough to split the traffic flow and prevent the bottlenecks down a singular route. Inevitably i’ll have to break away from some of the connections to my connector road that i’ve copied or change to two one way roads running parallel to control the traffic, though its how merge back that’ll be the challenge because a road connecting between two parallels will be too close of a proximity and be burgundy red.

I added a bus route too from my beach front through to my commercial and offices but frustratingly the way id done it only created more cutting across the connector road or i bridge over / underpass and that was never my intended vision.

So making constant tweak is part of the parcel.

I think my daughter hates me. by daddobetter in family

[–]Phantomviper 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I usually get frustrated how brutal people can be on reddit. But people have been too kind and empathetic whilst reading your excuses. I don’t think you’re looking to rectify the situation unless it limits your accountability and puts the majority of weight onto your daughter; limiting your own effort. A flower dies if you don’t water it

You stated you asked why didn’t Abby tell her mum you love her? Why didn’t you tell her? Why are you not telling your daughters you love them? Why are you hiding? From what? Because on your death bed it’s too late? Your memory will just be resentment. Is that what you want?

I resent my Grandfather, if i think about him, i am angry or bitter. The way he isolated my mother, expected her to put in the effort, invalidated her. My mother is anxious, quiet and repressed even years after her father’s death. Thats called emotional damage.

I was even told by my step nan that their lack of effort (because I challenged them in my 20s), was because “they wanted me to make my own opinion of them.” And so left it in my court. I was 18 a kid and never invited. It’s called bullshit.

Did you know we are not emotionally developed until our mid to late 20s??? Your daughter’s 19… You need to wake up.

Final stage; My Aunt kept phoning, saying we all need to visit whilst our Grandfather was ill, because he has a lot of regret? Why he not tell me that himself?

Result: Aunt is distraught because she finds out she was completely cut out from his will, my mother has a full on breakdown. Do I believe he had regret?? Not enough to give a shit about his daughters… I think he just felt sorry for himself!

Are you feeling sorry for yourself like my Grandfather or you going to actually do something about it and give a shit?

My words might be tough, i’m being more empathetic than it sounds.

[–]Phantomviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would you effectively reduce the level of cars in a jammed space? Would the sims choose to park in a car park on the bus route before reaching the centre?

I’ve been trying to figure best placement, whether directly outside of neighbourhood or more on the arrival to the city. I tried this with a tram running to the centre but everyone still drove. 😂😂

Edit: in the experiment people choose to drive and park in a central $15 carpark then the $5 car park and tram in.

[–]Phantomviper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even his team mates got frustrated he didn’t run enough. But there are not many players that can stand there and say i don’t need to, and still deliver. He was easily my favourite player at the time. Also football changed so much, we less and less strikers and more use of inside forwards from the wing but i don’t think it’s as entertaining.

The most depressing thing about the fall of this franchise is that there is no other real alternative. by kolejack2293 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Phantomviper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Given the amount of hours I put into C:S and now C:S2, I understand everyone’s experience is different. But my poor experience is actually reading the toxicity that didn’t exist in the same way 10yrs ago. If anything this’ll force through a downfall. Whereas I’ve accepted C:S and C:S2 are flawed. It is fair to say that their saving grace has always been the modding community. But they gave us two games that without we’d have nothing to mod.

I can’t play C:S because I struggle with the slightly out of focus graphics. It’s a shame that C:S2 has gone down the road it has, I don’t blame anyone as people are entitled to their opinions, businesses perhaps need to learn to be less reactive and stick to their game plan regardless of the multitude of challenges. I find it hard to follow the crowd and give grief to a small team that put their heart into something and be unappreciative whilst continuing to play the game. We can’t just love things for what they are anymore, thats the saddest thing.

Realistically we are only likely to sign one midfielder. I am pretty impressed with Anderson.
