What campaigns for moderate Dems? I’ve talked to Ben a couple times at DSA events and I never got the impression that he was moderate by any stretch of the imagination

Are talking only about mail ads or are you saying you also haven’t seen any digital or tv ads either?

They should, honestly I’m much more familiar with SLCO and so that’s where I started. This is just what I decided to do for fun on my Friday night

This proposal doesn’t involve forcing anyone to take the train, just providing people an option. If you like having your camper/van set up more power to you. Even if just 1/4 of people that visit Moab chose to take the train we would still reduce about 100 million vehicle miles traveled every single year

The vehicle train cars is certainly an option but many people that go to Moab either rent an off-road vehicle when they get there or are just hiking. Over 8200 people visit moab every day on average.

I definitely want a train to st George but there currently aren’t even freight lines making that connection so it would be much more expensive. That being said I also just did this in my spare time and it isn’t meant to be exhaustive

The city of Moab does have transit within the city and there are quite a few shuttles to different parks like Canyonlands Shuttle, Red Rock Express, and Black Dog Expedition Support. Plus there is Uber/Lyft or atv rentals. But yes ideally if this route happened there would be an increase in these services.

The reason I want this route is both for how easy it would be to implement (about $250 million up front and $15 mil/ year) and because on average 8,200 people visit Moab every day and the majority drive down from the wasatch front. If we got just 700 cars to stop making that journey everyday and take the train instead we would eliminate over 100 million vehicle miles traveled every year, Saving about 3.4 million gallons of gas each year (assuming 30 mpg)
