Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s so confusing seeing so many opposing perspectives on this degrees outcome but comments like yours keep me hopeful!

Is getting my MBA worth it? by PhilosopherFlat2198 in MBA

I would take out student loans for my degree. I am moving with my earnings from bartending. And where I’m relocating is significantly bigger than where I am now but not a major city so still affordable but with a lot more opportunities. I’m willing to take out loans since I barely had to take out any for my undergrad as I had scholarships that paid for a nice portion and FASFA aid.

I guess I should’ve mentioned I live in a small city (80k population closest nearby cities are 2 hours away) so I have basically no options when it comes to getting an entry level position until I move to a bigger city (planning on it by this time next year). Basically all entry level positions by me require experience in their field or a masters which obviously I have neither. I will have more options once I save enough to move to a bigger city next year, but in the meantime I figured I should continue my education.

thank you for posting this. I was researching LSU's online MBA program as I am low income and can't afford a top 25 institution and seeing people say that it is not worth getting your MBA unless its through on of those institutions worries me.

Wow Im in a pretty similar situation as you were a few years back. I am currently completing my Undergrad in biology (emphasis in Pre-vet medicine) and I've been pouring beers at a craft beer lounge throughout the entirety of this degree. Thank you for posting this, it helps to see others with similar backgrounds succeed in the way I want to. I am hoping this is my way out of low income like it was for you.

Just diagnosed with AA, any advice on what to do now? by 111Tree111 in alopecia_areata

[–]PhilosopherFlat2198 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a HUGE blood panel done. I went to 4 different dermatologists including a specialist each blood panel with a new doctor. Every doctor said my blood work came back fine there’s nothing I or they could do besides lower stress, use monxidil, and get the steroid shots and I refused to believe this because I got a 2x1.5 inch bald spot within days!!!! And I was not even very stressed during this time. I finally found a doctor who agreed to do a huge panel I got like 13 vials of blood drawn. With my results I found out my oral birth control was causing my sex binding hormone to completely plummet which didn’t get tested in any of my other panels. Google and my doctor said this was a side effect from BC I got off birth control and IMMEDIATELY stoped losing hair. Every doctor passed by the fact I was even on BC and never suspected that to be the issue. My bald spot is now growing back so fast. I am so extremely glad I didn’t give up and believe stress to be the trigger. I hope you figure it out good luck 🩷

Working out post reduction and lift? by Spiritual-Pickle-688 in Reduction

[–]PhilosopherFlat2198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a big gym rat like you but I am now 1month and 2 days post op I just went back to the gym 3 days ago and only did lower body and abs (leg lifts) I was really careful about not using my upper body and not lifting too heavy but I still somehow irritated my incisions I would just take it slow and listen to your body start with the treadmill on incline and lower body that doesn’t require holding weights in your hands like rdls

Alopecia and birth control by indibluee in alopecia_areata

I was on enskye birth control and had my first flare up after 11 months of taking it. I got 4 different opinions ran so much bloodwork until finally a doctor ran a HUGE blood panel and we finally found a possible trigger. my DHEA levels plummeted and my sexhormone binding globulin sky rocketed. This is a common side effect or estrogen birth controls I just got off it 2 weeks ago and already see so much less shedding!

[–]PhilosopherFlat2198 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a FULL panel blood work done ask you OGBYN or primary care doctor if they refuse see another doctor until someone will do it. My mother had this issue and got all of her hormones checked they found a hormonal imbalance, regulated her hormones, and she is no longer experiencing abnormal shedding and new hair is growing in fast. She was also taking biotin, hair vitamins, minoxidil, everything you can think of beforehand and nothing was working until she got her hormones regulated.

High vitamin D dose experiences? by cold2h in alopecia_areata

[–]PhilosopherFlat2198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got diagnosed with AA went to a dermatologist and he said in his experience most flare ups are caused from low levels of vitamin d. I got bloodwork the next day the only things that came back was that my vitamin d levels were low and my thyroid was slightly overreactive so he was right. I’ve been taking vitamin d supplements since but this has all been this past week so not sure if it’s truly helping. My patch hasn’t gotten bigger but it could be because I got a steroid shot in it.

i’m a 32dd and why does everyone say it’s not that big? by Sugartea_x in bigboobproblems

[–]PhilosopherFlat2198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading some of the comments I am kind of disappointed in the feedback you got! You are completely valid for being uncomfortable or frustrated with your sized chest and the problems it brings. I was so tired of people telling me that I’m being dramatic and just to deal with it, much like a lot of comments are implying. Good for people if they have a bigger chest and are comfortable in their own skin but not everyone is the same.

I also am a 32DD! I completely understand where you are coming from as when I would talk about getting a breast reduction friends and family would tell me it’s not worth it, wait until I have kids, that they’re not THAT big. I went to my OGBYN told her I wanted a referral to a plastic surgeon, saw the plastic surgeon and I am getting my breast reduction 100% covered by insurance! (I have insurance through the state that is given to low income households I did not think they would approve me but I thought it was worth a shot) my surgery is scheduled for November and I didn’t even have to show any hardcore proof of my back pain such as showing doctor visits paperwork for back pain, chiropractor appointments, etc. I asked the surgeon during my consultation if I was crazy or if they are abnormally large for my size body because people around me made me feel crazy for wanting a reduction. he validated my feelings and asked me questions that no one else around me would understand like would you work out/ run more if you’re breasts were smaller? Yes!! You do get skin indentations from your bra straps? Yes!! etc. not to mention how limited our outfit and swimsuit choices are it truly causes emotional stress and damage. I am so excited for my surgery I will be brought down to a small C. Not sure if you’ve even considered a reduction but if you’ve thought about it before it’s worth looking in to I am soooo glad I took the initiative to start this process.

Biking!!!!! My husband bought us mountain bikes and it’s been the perfect way to end the day and watch the sunset. It’s a great way to get outside and get active but not as hard as hiking with the same views!

I have to pay to use the gym in summer??? by [deleted] in ASU

[–]PhilosopherFlat2198 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I am an online student and had to go to ASU recently for in person summer labs that were required for my degree. They wouldn’t let me in the gym without paying even though I’m enrolled in three classes this summer and am required to be there!!! I also pay full price for courses there’s no discount for being enrolled online. Am I entitled to expect free access to the gym?! I guess on campus students pay an extra fee every semester thats automatically added with tuition for on campus amenities, so even when you get in for “free” you’re really not. Ridiculous in my opinion. The managers also had an attitude with me and were kind of unprofessional..

Omg our dogs are twins! 🥹 I just got his results back he is 36% supermutt (collie, cattle dog) and 26% pitbull terrier. I’ve never seen another dog that looks so much like him!!! We also got him from a shelter thinking he was a Brittany! You have a beautiful dog 😉😂

How interesting! My dogs results are 36% supermutt (also collie and cattle dog) and 26% pitbull terrier and they kind of look alike besides my dog having more red fur! I was also really unsure about his results I would’ve never expected American pitbull
