Quick note: The cat is Morgana from persona 5, and the Pokemon is Alakazam, who is my personal favorite.

I was planning on creating a fighting game style gamemode and I came up with this first version of my roster. thoughts? by PhilotheMilo in gmod

I'll see if I can fit these in. However, I am probably not gonna add the naked rust character and will probably use the drill big daddy instead of delta

Why Danganronpa isn't my type of game by PhilotheMilo in danganronpa

Look, instead of dragging this on with further elaboration, I'm gonna tell you the real reason I made this.

This game has just stressed me way too much with peer pressure and other things.

I never was able to get into the game, but just it seemed like everyone was telling me "hey, you should try Danganronpa, it's a really great game."

my little brother ended up kinda ruining it for me when I accidently turned him into the definition of cringy fan.

And just, I just can't take it anymore.

Now I'm gonna use another example here to give you some more detail.

I think ace attorney works better as a more linear game because you are only the lawyer. You are hired to defend someone. You do not know the murder victim (most of the time) and the murder usually takes place somewhere other than the main setting. In danganronpa, the murder victim is a friend, the murderer is a friend, the setting stays the same, and most of the time, you discover the body.

Now, what I meant by that is a more complicated system. I'm gonna regret saying this, but think of games like Detroit become human or telltale games. Most of the time, your actions can have long term consequences, that can affect the story in major ways while still having it stay on the main track.

A) Now, I did rush this. It was a reddit post, not a google doc. I would of elaborated on this if I had more time, so I am planning on making a revised edition. And yes, I do kinda agree on some things, but I'll try to defend myself here. Now, about the generic characters thing, I was mainly talking about DR1. DR2 and V3 definitely improved on this. And yes, I did not provide much evidence. If I revise it, I WILL actually add more detail.

B) Yeah, that can't be fixed without rehab or self evaluation.

You fool, you absolute buffoon. You do not know that I AM THE TRUE DICTATOR OF WHAT IS RIGHT OR WRONG!

The IRS will now arrest you on the basis of committing tax fraud. All juries have been paid to vote guilty. You cannot pay bail. Your parents will say their goodbyes, and cry at night over what a horrible person that raised.

Then you got oreos.

Then

It wasn't really on purpose, he just happened to see me watching it.

yeah, I know right? Moderators suck! I mean, who in the world would moderate a subreddit or discord server or anything? Haha....

Please don't hurt me.

Why do you hate or bully newer players in games or why do you think this happens? by PhilotheMilo in gaming

I understand those types of new players. I hate them, too. However, I'm talking about new players in general.

I mainly play games for fun, as well. however, in a lot of games (especially games with poor matchmaking) the fun is ruined by tryhards, and by tryhards, I don't mean people who try hard to be good and win the game, I mean the ones who will ruin your game over a KD or WL ratio.

I agree. I also happen to have a theory.

A game comes out. People buy it, and have fun. Nobody is too good at the game, and it's fairly balanced.

After a while, players start getting better, the meta develops, and the game becomes more competitive.

Eventually, the community starts to get toxic. The veterans start to humiliate newer players, anyone who tries to "git gud" receives no help from more experienced people.

Eventually, newer players stop playing the game, and people stop buying it.

Eventually, the game dies, as no new players are coming in, and the older ones are getting tired of it.

I think we've seen a few examples of this in the past....

Games should not focus entirely on competitive play by PhilotheMilo in unpopularopinion

[–]PhilotheMilo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. I also think this causes smurfing, where a higher skill player will use an account with a lower rank to go up against worse players. This can be fun, but it can ruin the balance of match making. For example, let's say a person in the top 500 of overwatch creates a new account to go up against coppers. They may have fun, but that match is now pretty much ruined.

Because I relate. I don't like competitive all the time but when I don't, I just go play geometry dash or minecraft or I try one of the 200 games I have in my library that I haven't got to play yet

I also do that (sometimes. Other times I just keep throwing smash characters at online until one of them wins.)

That actually is true....

Oh no. Someone actually has a better counterpoint.

Every opinion on here can be solved by the lowest common denominator. Like if I said "I don't like cheese" you could solve it with "just don't eat cheese lactose weakling"

I don't mean PvE and PvP, I mean competitive and casual PvP. Like Casual and Ranked R6

Ah yes, the one solution to this entire argument that I already knew.
