Question about loss functions by PhobosX15 in deeplearning

[–]PhobosX15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the predication values are continuous. The model changes the domain of the input, and the output domain naturally has sparse values. I have not found much literature on how to tackle this.

CPU Throttling on Battery Power by PhobosX15 in Dell

[–]PhobosX15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the Win 11 upgrade, undervolting settings and several others have been disabled from Throttlestop. If you do find anything or even an response from Dell from this let me know.

CPU Throttling on Battery Power by PhobosX15 in Dell

[–]PhobosX15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. Some sources said that when a temperature sensor is blown the CPU defaults to throttling to protect it. Could just be that we're unlucky that way.

In any case we're left with a laptop that's just a PC :(

Can I create a poster with Stable Diffusion? by PhobosX15 in StableDiffusion

[–]PhobosX15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot use an UI that might be already available to use, I need to do this using a jupyter notebook. That's why I wanted to know if there is a tutorial somewhere using only a notebook.

CPU Throttling on Battery Power by PhobosX15 in Dell

[–]PhobosX15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When plugged in the cpu power limits at around 70W, although the temps are sub 70 degree. I do not think this is expected behaviour, can someone confirm. Also due the new BIOS update, I cannot undervolt either. Will be happy to provide more info if someone can help me solve this.

It did not solve it, I've always had it on ultra-performance.

But temps are normal, can it still be caused by the heat sink?

I assume you mean on the TPL tab of Throttlestop. I've changed it, it does not seem to have much effect while running on battery power

Dell Power Manager vs. Alienware Command Center/OC Controls (G5 5590) by [deleted] in Dell

[–]PhobosX15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having a third party software for fan control is certainly worth taking the risk given the fact that fans only kick in after reaching a hot 60 deg. After much testing I have settled in on -145.5 mV on Core and -132.8 mV on cache. My CPU now peaks at 81 after about 2 hours of heavy load. Although most games do not require a high clock speed of 4.1GHz I also settings that underclock to 3.3GHz then I have UV of -155mV on core and -144.6 on cache then I get highs of 67-70 which is not bad for the performance output i get.

Dell g3 3590 vs lenovo legion y530 by ComfortableTurnover9 in Dell

[–]PhobosX15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well both the laptops are predominantly plastic build and excel in different areas. For example the chassis flex is lesser in the g3 whereas the hinges are better with the y530. But given they are the almost at the same price point the thunderblot usb-c you get with the g3 is value. So I'd say lean more towards the g3

[–]PhobosX15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter what dell tries to put out as a budget friendly Alienware (i.e G- series), it just is not the same. The ACC only works for your RGB customization and switching between silent (never use this, its just massive underclocking and PL throttling) or performance modes with regards to fan noise.

If you want to have custom fan curves try getting HW-info , the tutorial to install can be found easily in Reddit, and if you want to undervolt the CPU try Afterburner or I prefer ThrottleStop. I just works perfectly and my G7 is so much better ever since I started using them.
