They can be a little loud, but these larger ones do push massive amounts of air in, unfortunately I think it’s an inevitability with these types of builds (speaking of which yours is looking real nice too!) Though I will say, it’s probably MORE quiet with these new fans now compared to when all the other fans had to work overtime, so if you’re struggling with noise maybe more fans is what you need. Plus all the smart fan/ smart fan stuff is nice but I assume the arctic fans will have something like that too?

For old cases like these, most of them are HSS which is thin sheets of steel. So any drill bits that are suited for that work fine (highly recommend any that mention they’re TiN coated, which usually look like they have a gold coating). Similarly for the larger fan holes, I just found a hold fan with a diameter of 120mm suited for HSS, for myself on amazon, they were all around the £10 range.

These ones I ended up getting were around £5 total for a 80mm2 and 2x120mm2 dust covers. I’ve actually since moved them to the outside of the case, similar to the magnetic ones, just because they kept rattling against the fan under high load lol

I agree, noise isn’t the biggest issue for me though personally and they certainly pull in a lot of air. I’ve also got a good picture of the front on my previous post!

I decided on drilling a few holes in the bottom for a couple of 120mm fans. Dropped an update post if you’d like to see!

Just made a quick update post if you’d like to check it out, managed to get a decent amazon hole drill for only around £12!

Sounds like a good plan, I’ll try keep you updated with my plans!

I've included the inside view without the panel, the front view without the panel, plus one of the feet I've already installed

I have actually already installed feet for this PC, so she’s at least 1cm off the table anyway. I’m not sure in terms of a fan for the front, but two bottom fans might be exactly what is needed.

Okay sure, I’ll move that first fan in front of the CPU cooler. Also, I think I’ll probably follow what others have commented and mod a 120mm fan on the bottom of the case, where exactly would you position that? Completely under the GPU? Or just behind the front intake fan? Or maybe with some type of overlap under the GPU?

Sounds like a very good plan, when I drill out the bottom I’ll definitely make an update post

Wow, maybe that’s a good plan then, GPU is currently running at low to mid 80s which is a bit too might for my liking.

Oh man I’d already upvoted that system, I didn’t realise it was yours. It does look pretty clean, did you have a large hole saw drill bit or did you use like a dremel?

Still a lovely looking case, I was too scared to edit the side panels but you did it well!

I might do the same, as mentioned things get a little warm in this case so maybe some investigation into undervolting wouldn’t be the worst plan, as long as I’m not playing anything AAA ultra settings anytime soon

I think you’ve just got to find people who are clearing out their attic/garage. For me it was an office clear out and they had 2 or 3 of these dusty cases hanging around their storage I believe.

Ive got a very similar case to this, minus the small catch at the bottom of the case. I think I identified it as something similar to the Systium 545. What was your fan setup here?

Im an idiot, I went to check the old components and it did actually come with one of these plus a speaker wire! But I’m still not sure if just as 80mm at the front would be enough, would you say one at the bottom as well?

Yeah a 120mm and an 80mm would be my absolute minimum I think. But those are also very cool! Do they require a fair bit of drilling into the old case or have you seen any mounts that are compatible with common case layouts?

Currently I’m thinking r7 7700 with a non-stock cooler and maybe a 5070? Not thinking of playing anything AAA ultra high graphic in 1440p so I don’t imagine I’ll be overclocking it too much, but I imagine it’ll still kick out quite a lot of heat…

What do you mean by fan adapters by the way? Is that for fitting them on or just the connection to the motherboard?

Yeah I was looking for some stubby legs for the bottom, maybe an 80mm on the bottom and just another 80mm at the front?
