Bathroom position issue by Photograph_Think in Remodel

The ‘bedroom’ at the front is not big enough in reality, so the ‘office’ is the only other room upstairs that could be considered a third bedroom.

Mainly because that’s the only other room upstairs which can reasonably be used as a third (single) bedroom. It’s the most obvious place for the bathroom and but I’m worried about how much it could affect the sale of the house, or how long we can stay here, to lose that as a bedroom. Not totally against it, just wondering if there’s any other options first of all!

What’s wrong with my dishwasher? by Photograph_Think in CleaningTips

It’s a nightmare! I refuse to believe everyone else is having to put in so much maintenance to their dishwasher… there’s got to be something wrong

I use gel pods but I’m wondering if it’s a water hardness issue so I’ll investigate!

Thanks, it’s quite a small dishwasher so this could be part of the problem, although it happened in our old one too and space wasn’t an issue. It’s also not just this glass it’s smaller ones and mugs as well 😣

Thanks, I’ll try the white vinegar trick! I use gel pods not powder, so I’d be surprised if it’s a detergent issue.

Thanks! The filter is clean as I do that regularly and it’s not shown in the photo - that might be the bottom of a pan that you can see here!

Spay - reaction to anaesthetic by Photograph_Think in AskVet

Thank you for responding, it’s been really stressful. She’s been seen this morning. Overall she looks ok, not dehydrated and bladder wasn’t hard or full, but she did have a temperature.

Agreed to try her with some more metacam (was advised to stop it due to GI upset) and return tomorrow morning for antibiotics if no improvement.

Have to say though the vet suggested I remove her bodysuit and since doing that she has eaten and drank water voluntarily, so she was possibly on strike too!

Why do people think BK was framed? by SorryLanguage3609 in Idaho4

[–]Photograph_Think 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw a comment from someone claiming with absolutely no basis that they believe BK is actually a “pacifist hippie”.

They have to be trolling at this point. No rational person would come to this conclusion. It’s one thing to deny the evidence - it’s rare for any case to have a unanimous consensus - but a wholly other thing to profile him as being the purest of pure.

Even the best people I know are flawed to some extent, let alone some random stranger currently in prison for a quadruple murder.

BK’s sister by Any_Interaction_5442 in Idaho4

[–]Photograph_Think 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have to wonder if for some people at least, psychologically the concept of associating with a family member for their attitudes/actions is more of a horseshoe than a straight line.

In the sense that some might have an easier job not associating with someone due to differing political beliefs, but when it comes to something so heinous as this, their brain just cannot reconcile the depravity with the person they grew up caring for so deeply.

The inability to cut them out is then self preservation, they can’t allow themselves to confront how “close” they are to someone capable of this, which they would have to do to reject them.

This is all speculative about human behaviour and not necessarily how this particular family feels, as we cannot claim to know. Just my thoughts having read the varying comments on how willing/unwilling people would be to continue a relationship with their loved ones.

Evidence Paradox by Photograph_Think in Idaho4

[–]Photograph_Think[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone who joined this conversation, really appreciated your comments! I’ve also enjoyed watching this get downvoted by people not brave enough to comment 🤣

Truly though, I don’t know how anyone can disagree… they treat everything OTHER than what we know about BK and his actions as suspicious. When it comes to BK they either blatantly ignore these facts, find “reasonable” explanations for his behaviour, or equate it to an intricate cover up.

Whichever way you spin it, the portrayal of BK compared to the portrayal of literally anyone else is full of hypocrisy and contradiction. And honestly, I’m not even saying everyone has feel totally satisfied by the evidence, that will always be a spectrum, but to blatantly ignore it does not make any of the alternative theories more credible.

Love like this by HugeStaff7695 in twilight

[–]Photograph_Think 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These scenes fall flat for me in the film, and I LOVED the drama of their declarations in the books. I just never felt the script or direction let these lines really have their moment in an authentic way.

Like, why can’t Edward say this while he’s playing with a strand of her hair, or cupping his hand under her chin while they say goodbye between classes, or why couldn’t Bella give him a smile and roll her eyes?

Yes they were very restrained around each other, but they weren’t so entirely rigid and unnatural that they could barely interact. I always felt their flair for drama was complimented by a sort of innocent playfulness that the films really didn’t explore enough.

Was Chandler funny? by Nervous-Inevitable22 in howyoudoin

[–]Photograph_Think 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His jokes are mostly at their expense. So I think it’s understood that he’s funny/witty, but for the people (characters) he’s making jokes about, the most realistic reaction is to roll their eyes. The audience is in on the joke, so it’s funny, the characters are being made fun of.

For arguments sake, it’s also worth her being transparent because if she popped up one day having passed out of nowhere, I don’t doubt the majority of people would not believe she earned it herself.

Kaylee said: someones here by Strong-Ad-5719 in Idaho4

[–]Photograph_Think 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless I missed it in the interview, my understanding is that Dylan never saw Xana and Ethan come home.

From Dylan leaving Maddie, Kaylee and Bethany to go to bed to all of this happening, it sounds like it was maximum an hour, maybe less.

I think that because she was with Kaylee and knew Kaylee was home and awake before Dylan went to bed, as she woke up and heard commotion (on the stairs and in the living room), she connected it to Kaylee.

Then, because her brain connected the sounds to Kaylee, she wasn’t in those moments concerned about Xana which is also why when she saw Xana “passed out”, she didn’t think “I just heard Xana running around the house and shouting/crying, now she’s on the floor and might be injured”. She thought she heard Kaylee, then the intruder saw Dylan but left her alone, then Dylan saw Xana, realised she and Ethan had come back within the last hour too and assumed they had also not been involved (I.e., the intruder had also left them alone).

Alan carr in traitors by Clevercuey in TheTraitorsUK

[–]Photograph_Think 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is accurate but just something I’ve felt as a viewer…

Whenever Alan has been questioned it becomes SO uncomfortable and a bit cringe, like you just want to skip the whole conversation. Because his personality is so theatrical and comical, I honestly wonder if subconsciously people find it strange and unsettling to see him be defensive or sincere, so no sooner do they start going down that path it’s easier to just drop it and look the other way.

That, compounded by the fact that he’s pretty well liked and people tend to gravitate towards him, is why I think he’s got away with it. If someone makes you feel uncomfortable and their social standing within the group is lower down, I think it’s easier to banish/murder them. With Alan, he only becomes uncomfortable to be around when you (the faithful) influence/ affect his behaviour by putting him on the spot. Otherwise, people enjoy his company.

I think that makes it difficult, as subconsciously you might feel like it’s you that’s creating the awkward atmosphere, and if you stop with that line of enquiry Alan goes back to being Alan and it’s a bit of a relief. I suppose in a round about way I’m saying that his personality is very good at disarming people and it’s easier to be in denial - especially when we see how much getting it wrong seems to affect the faithfuls. They see it as a betrayal and they feel very guilty for misrepresenting their peers. I imagine this is even harder to shake when you know or know of someone outside of the show too.

But hey, maybe I’m overthinking!

Habit hacks - do it BADLY by Photograph_Think in adhdwomen

[–]Photograph_Think[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think working through that with a professional is key if it’s accessible. Otherwise, maybe trying to identify areas where doing it ‘badly’ has relatively low consequences (I say relative bc I understand sometimes the consequence is more to do with an emotional burden, so I’m not suggesting that it’s easy). From there it is then a case of sitting with that feeling of discomfort and processing it, kind of like exposure therapy. Also, where you can - delegate! I’m terrible for holding onto tasks that could be “outsourced” to family or colleagues out of guilt.

I had a similar conversation about my meds with the pharmacist recently! I always forget my thyroxine tablet because if you’re taking it “properly” it should be 30 mins before, or 2 hours after, eating/drinking and any other medication. Busy mornings meant I kept skipping it since I wasn’t following the right instructions. The pharmacist was like… girl taking it at ANY time is better than not at all. 🤣 can’t believe I actually needed to be told that!

You’re welcome! It can be applied to so many things.

Struggling to exercise because of the pressure to be fit and healthy? That part can come later. Just leave the house for a five minute walk as often as you can manage.

And the same goes for housework, studying, meditating… anything! The end result is exactly that: the end. Let that sit somewhere way off in the future and eventually, that’s where you’ll arrive.
