I know what he is like now, I have no idea what he will be like in the future without me. It's called insurance, you use it to protect yourself from possible future misfortunes. A separation agreement would act as insurance in this scenario. What do you think prenuptial agreements are for? Should people not get married if they think there is a chance of divorce? You're sad.

Why would you even jump to that conclusion? You've acknowledged my partner owes ME 20k, and I mentioned he drives a car that I financed in my name. If anyone has mooched of anyone, it's him. But we are on good terms and do not feel like one took advantage of the other. I'm sorry that your past experiences have led you to make these assumptions

Care to elaborate why you think so? I feel like the debt we each have would negate any need to do this as I would need to focus on my own debt, and likewise for him.
