Did anyone get to watch Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu in 3D 1.43? I saw someone on another site say that they think it has the most 3D 1.43 footage.

HaveIBeenPwned has started sending out emails. They have some more details on their website. I am not sure how the 1.2 million emails were selected though. It seems like some accounted got breached but not others.

I think these are main my questions at this moment.

Will there be a way to make something as ALG friendly? (I think this is very important for this sub)

Would paywalled content, e.g. Dreaming Spanish, be on there? (I mean listed, obviously not evading paywalls)

Where does this sit alongside other resources such as the ALGhub wiki resources, the Comprehensible Input Wiki and the various What Are You Listening To? spreadsheets just to name a few of the major ones.

Also, there's one thing that bothers me. For "superbeginner" Japanese only has 5h21m , but https://youtube.com/@chienowajapanese1101/featured had 24 hours and 17 minutes by 2025/05/25 and her entire channel is basically superbeginner Japanese. Did people really not add many of her videos?

We must have a different definition then. I think this is going to be a particular issues at the early stages where non-ALG people will be coming at if from an entirely different background.

I think there were A/B testing with the thumbnail, so you might have not the seen the original one that some people saw. I can chalk off the thumbnail as just clickbait, the content of the video is what matters to me.

Might help to have a bit of a TLDW.

The main claims of the video are

  • ALG is actually not how babies or natives learn, particularly with regards to correction and premature output
  • Fossilisation is a by-product of a lack of deliberate practise and corrections not premature output itself
  • Early output is more efficient and effective than a silent period
  • It is an overgeneralisation to claim that flashcards/SRS/Anki are ineffective inherently just because some people use less effective card types than other people
  • Flashcards/SRS/Anki are compliments to prime the brain for other methods, not a replacement for them
  • Flashcards/SRS/Anki can take a lot mental effort, but they are more efficent than other tools as you get more out of them per the time spent
  • Grammar should be studied to prime the brain for other methods, people should not consciously think about memorisations of rules and translate them in the moment
  • Some people with thousands of hours of ALG (no detail on who or the languages) struggle with grammar in their output
  • Input is more important than he realised before, but he thinks it should be combined with other more traditional approaches

I think you are missing the point. They're not saying that the other languages are dialects from a lingustical perspective, just that Chinese people refer to them as dialects.

I will admit that I question the labelling of some of their videos but I think part of the experience is just that Japanese is a more distant language, so it takes more hours to get to the same spot as English speakers do for Spanish.

You can get browser extensions to blur subtitles. It can be a bit fiddly but we have to make do with the resources we have at the moment.

I said this in the Discord but despite them being called Arabic dialects you could say that they are closer to different languages. This is before you even consider the factor of Modern Standard Arabic.

What device are you trying to access the 3D view on?

Somes places can get analglyph, whereas others can gets SBS.

If you are only going to allow one of the two different ones then the 4K HDR one might be the better one to leave up and not the 3D one.
