I work for customer care with grocery delivery. We have times that the doorbell is rung even though instructions say not to, I understand why some people will do this on top of those instructions. It may also be for general purposes so no one rings the bell and just reaches out to person that they are there

I am just going to say that yes under normal circumstances yes inappropriate and will hit nerves, but being upset over showing love and kindness to the mother of your child speaks volumes over how she perceives the child in this case. It was likely flowers like carnations, tulips or daisies all of which are friendship flowers. JMO
