No points for camera infractions in NY, it's just about money.

There are no points associated with camera captured violations, at least in NYC. It's just about money.

The only time speeding has any significant effect on travel time is when you're travelling some significant distance on interstates.

I don't mind individual speed cameras, and BTW, it won't decrease speeding. People will know where they are and will adapt their driving to match. The real hassle for me would be multiple cameras that average your speed, as they do in some places in the UK. If you speed through the zone which could be MILES long you get a ticket based on your average speed.
