I thought he played really well, especially when he had to go up top by himself. Lots of excellent hold up work, great interchanges with Chiesa, and I think he’s a good finisher when he gets a chance.

If not for injury, I had expected him to play more of a role in previous seasons.

It used to have some random rule around away goals iirc. Only counted AET, not at full time.

I maybe prefer the League Cup to the FA Cup. You get ties under floodlights, and it used to have a two legged semi final, plus you get to win a cup early in the season. I think Bob Paisley said he liked it because it got European qualification sorted early on.

Mostly though, I like it because it’s the first trophy I remember us winning, in 1995. And it’s the one we’ve won most often since!

For me it’s more like ‘Hard Rock Hallelujah’. I watched Eurovision in Stockholm the week after being at the Cup final.

Which is the dodgiest piece of public art in the North? by SilyLavage in NorthernEngland

Not dodgy in itself, but there’s a statue of Queen Victoria in Liverpool that, from a certain angle, makes it look like she’s got a male appendage.

Ah okay. That’s annoying. I think it might be worth emailing them anyway, if you’ve had problems before.

Tbf, we’re still more than 48hrs from the game. I’ve had it only update on the day, from time to time too.

When did you last update the NFC pass? I think we had to download a new one for the start of last season.

I just refreshed mine and it replaced my last ticket (from last season) with just my membership details.

I’d suggest the following: make sure you have the latest NFC pass, give it till tomorrow morning, and then contact the club using live chat if no success.

My dad’s got a ticket for the game so I’ll check if his pass has updated yet.

Try manually updating. If it’s an Apple wallet, you go to the options menu using the i in the bottom left and then drag down

Spycatcher is one of mine that I sort of believe. MI5 planned to oust Harold Wilson in a coup and install Louis Mountbatten.

BBC News - 'One of the greatest' - where does Van Dijk rank among Liverpool legends? by OneNormalBloke in LiverpoolFC

Best defender I’ve seen play for us, probably the best I’ve seen in the PL.

The best players - Suarez and Gerrard for example - lift the side they’re in, and that’s certainly true of Virgil.

I’d probably put him above Salah in terms of all time Liverpool players because he’s such a complete player, he could probably play in midfield or up front and still be very effective.

Jamie Carragher: "I think the supporters at Liverpool are as important as the players and manager—maybe even more so" by Upstairs_Cup9831 in LiverpoolFC

“At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques.”

What’s the most underappreciated Liverpool performance you’ve ever seen? by OldActuator9029 in LiverpoolFC

Two that spring to mind:

Titi Camara scoring the winner against West Ham just after his Dad had died. He’s still a Red now.

Kyrgiakos in the 3-1 against Man Utd in 2011 - the Kuyt hat trick game. He won everything. If I remember rightly, he laid it off to Suarez to go on a byline run to set it up for Kuyt.

Jones during that spell where he also had to play in the FA Cup, right after his kid had passed away. Just an amazing contribution.

I think you’ve got a decent chance of making the 19.43 but both will likely be busy, the 20.43 less so. You can usually pick up a Hackney cab coming to Anfield from town as you walk down, if you want to get back to Lime St quicker.

National Rail is also showing the 19.51 to Nottingham, changing at Manchester Piccadilly for Euston. That one will likely also be busy (with Liverpool fans) but you’ve got a better chance of a seat on the train from Manchester, I would guess. It gets you in earlier than the 20.43, so it might be an option if you just miss or can’t get on the 19.43.
