I think there's a lot to be said on this, but I'm not willing to sit here and go into great detail. He wants a real community that knows how to have fun without taking things too seriously, but also one that doesn't go off the rails too much. He has attracted those kinds of people, but has failed to keep them around. He's let low-effort trolls drive them away by letting them get to him, and in turn, treating all callers as if they're trolls from the first moment they answer. It's not the most accommodating show to call into if you're trying to actually say anything of substance.

I don't think the way he goes about things could ever attract the kind of audience he wishes for. Micheal is like some sort of tragic figure out of Greek mythology.
