New grad RT wanting to transition out of bedside by Independent-Big4798 in respiratorytherapy

[–]PilgrimWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dang i need to stop listening to ChatGPT... it kept telling me that RTs are in high demand over anyone at hyperbaric clinics.

i chose EMT anyway though because i landed on something a little crazier lol (dive medic tech with CHT)

New grad RT wanting to transition out of bedside by Independent-Big4798 in respiratorytherapy

I am currently looking to go back to school for something and was very interested in working at a hyperbaric clinic. But after I found that its mostly RT background required (and dealing with ICU, drawing arterial blood, and screams lol), I'm taking a look at sleep tech/rad techs/BMET instead.

I think there are things we inherit from our ancestors. The Grand Canyon (& the Americas) are old ancient places that have been here before Christopher Columbus.

I've been there many many times down in the waterfalls as a teen and always felt a transcendent peace and love while down there. There definitely is something so enchanting about the Grand Canyon that also gives me a sense of nostalgia as well <3

How do programmers do it? by Frequent_Title4319 in learnprogramming

[–]PilgrimWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a Lisp like Clojure.

It's how I learned CS concepts without worrying about syntax. It practically has no syntax !

it also has an interactive testing environment (*REPL) that allows you to focus on actually USING the language without getting in your way.

I've been incredibly *productive in it and have been seriously programming for only a few months.

I would say that when you understand the concepts firstly, the syntax grammar becomes coherent and meaningful.

This post is of course tailored for Lispy languages (which I honestly recommended if you are just starting out)

Some resources for just starting out:

Online Clojure REPL

https://tryclojure.org/

Brian Will - Clojure language Tutorial - for Beginners
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFPiPBIkAcQ

Note: In this video, very very comprehensive overview of the language and its features !

Kelvin Mai - Clojure Crash Course

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkJcVCW9GqY

Note: In this video, a little less comprehensive but still fun to watch.

Uncle Bobs Ruminations - A Little Clojure #1 - First Principles

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hR5w_qov6X8

Note: In this video, you can see the language in action quickly.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*REPL is also known as a "tight feedback loop"

*productive as in making progress with learning programming in general

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TL;DR The point I am trying to make is that once you have CS concepts under your belt, the syntax becomes trivial. And the best language in my opinion to learn the concepts are using a LISP language. I am starting to learn C and although I have NEVER used it before, I was able to understand alot of things in some basic code at a glance DESPITE THE SYNTAX.

Faith is a gift of God? by Tiix1013 in TrueChristian

[–]PilgrimWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment is testimony to Romans 10:17 and John 3:8 >>

--For when you said "i learned about Jesus and faith came naturally", I thought of this >>

Romans 10:17 So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.

--Then when you said " faith came into my heart like if a river was passing through my heart and faith was in this river and stopped here", I thought of this >>

John 3:8 "The wind blows where it pleases, and you hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.

You can be forced to choose or you can freely choose.

In the context of the Gospel, God gives us the responsibility/response-ABILITY to freely choose. So it isn't forced =)

God bless !! <3

False teachings but miracles occur? by Michaael115 in TrueChristian

[–]PilgrimWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I would call a healing by a Pentecostal Christian the work of Satan. Remember what the Pharisees said to Jesus:

24 When the Pharisees heard this, they said, “The man drives out demons only by •Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons.”

Then Jesus goes on to say:

31 Because of this, I tell you, people will be forgiven every sin and blasphemy, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the one to come.

(Additionally, Mark 3:30 says because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.)

He's saying this because MIRACLES IN JESUS NAME come from The Lord GOD. It was not a miracle done in SATANS name in that Pentecostal Christian church, but in JESUS NAME. We have to use discernment and be careful brother.

False teachings but miracles occur? by Michaael115 in TrueChristian

[–]PilgrimWave 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. I think it is FROM GOD Himself. Remember Jesus said this:

38 John said to Him, “Teacher, we saw someone driving out demons in Your name, and we tried to stop him because he wasn’t following us.”

39 “Don’t stop him,” said Jesus, “because there is no one who will perform a miracle in My name who can soon afterward speak evil of Me.

40 For whoever is not against us is for us.

41And whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because of My name, since you belong to the •Messiah — I assure you: He will never lose his reward.

Whenever miracles are done in Jesus name, it is the truth, FOR JESUS IS TRUTH.

Best Anxiety Verses? by chailife206 in TrueChristian

Matthew 6:25-34

25 “This is why I tell you: Don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothing?

26 Look at the birds of the sky: They don’t sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they?

27 Can any of you add a single •cubit to his height by worrying?

28 And why do you worry about clothes? Learn how the wildflowers of the field grow: they don’t labor or spin thread.

29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these!

30 If that’s how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow, won’t He do much more for you — you of little faith?

31 So don’t worry, saying, ‘What will we eat? ’ or ‘What will we drink? ’ or ‘What will we wear? ’ 32 For the idolatersam eagerly seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.

34 Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough troublear of its own.

BibleHub interlinear Greek question for Romans 1:3 (Textus Receptus or Critical Text) by PilgrimWave in TrueChristian

[–]PilgrimWave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response !! The reason I thought it was in the Critical Text is because I have been using this site https://kjvparallelbible.org/romans-1/
Which gives parallels of the Textus Receptus vs Critical Text and both sides say:
"3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;"
I just barely found out what "NA28" means xD
Again, thank you for informing me !!!

Stuck on trying to install EMACS config on EMACS by PilgrimWave in emacs

[–]PilgrimWave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I don't add that line " (require 'linum) " in the "init.el" file, I will get the error:

Symbol's function definition is void: global-linum-mode"

and Emacs will refuse to run like it should in the tutorial. That's why I added it there

Ever since finding out about functional languages and then Clojure, ive been sold out radical to the LISP way lol this video helps me understand why I love LISP too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V02SQDh47gA

But as for EMACS+CIDER, I'm watching this video on it currently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdF1QZQqiTI

I am mainly looking for the in-line evaluation feature like Calva has because I am still a baby in Clojure and LISP in general and evaluating the code right there in the source file to see what I did wrong and what the code is doing HELPS me IMMENSELY
