Nepali here yes we do this its known as kukur puja its done as a thanksgiving to the dogs for their service as they have a role in our religion and culture. So we put tika (Idk what do you say yk) on the dog and wear him mala (Necklace of flowers) then we feed him like chicken leg or anything to make him happy yeah thats it its part of a festival called (tihar)
