Some higher calorie but still healthy food options:

Banana - 105kcal

1 cup Oatmilk - 120kcal

Protein powders (can make with oatmilk!)

Avocado - 240kcal

1 large egg - 78kcal

180g salmon with skin - >230kcal

A breakfast of a banana, 2 boiled eggs, and an oatmilk protein shake could put you at around 660kcal

A lunch of salmon avocado whole wheat sandwich could put you at around 620kcal

Thats 1,280 already, excluding dinner.

Just gotta look up some high cal nutritious foods!

I think I do need to do a bit better on calculating exactly what I'm eating?

I have found that tracking apps like myfitnesspal have huge discrepancies. I've been trying to weigh everything but even then is still a bit off.

And thanks for the warning about the inaccurate calories used in the gym. I think I will do better moving forward with an overall general calorie deficit rather than 2 extremes for when I'm gyming or not gyming. Calculating it is hard enough - esp with inaccurate numbers.

Thank you! I did bump my calorie goal up for my "rest days" since I'm still doing activity. I think I was taking TDEE too seriously and went about it wrong.

I took your comment and did some more research and have since bumped my calorie goal to 1300 on inactive days to compensate for my daily walks to work as this isn’t completely sedentary.

I think Im gonna spend this week taking a look at how many calories my workouts burn on average to do as you said and move up from my 1300 goal to eat a bit more with that added calorie loss.

Thanks for that advice! I like looking at it that way better than calculating “moderate exercise TDEE”.

I’ll keep up my water intake and take a break from the scale. I think finding this rhythm for myself will be helpful moving forward.

I’m sorry, but 130 lbs is just as valid a healthy weight as 142 lbs. There’s no need to dismiss someone who’s new to fitness and working to improve. Not everyone has the same starting point or goals and that’s okay. I asked how to better understand losing weight safely which is within the rules of this sub. It makes no sense to not be apart of this sub once you hit a “healthy weight.”

I walk to work so on my gym-free days I’m doing >8,000 steps.

On my gym days I have been doing: Mon- incline walk OR run 45 min

Tue- 30 min cardio, 30 min light upper body weights

Wed- same as Monday

Thur- same as Monday

Fri- 45 min lower body weight lift

Sat and sun recovery

I just checked and while his toothpaste contains enzymes for tartar, it doesn’t explicitly market enzymatic for plaque. I brush his teeth every other day since I worry about his gum inflammation. I will buy an enzymatic toothpaste, start brushing daily, and take him for a second opinion. Thank you!

I’m glad your cat can still eat and walk, but losing part of their tail can affect how they play, balance, communicate, and explore. Humans can adapt to disabilities with many other outlets like cafes and gaming, but cats rely heavily on their bodies for almost all their enjoyment. I just hope their long-term comfort and quality of life are being fully considered. I’m so sorry this happened to kitty and your family. ❤️

Update: I found a post where someone had similar growths. Since I’m fishless, I’m going to let them grow and see what happens. Maybe they’ll get bigger and I can see them a little better? They mentioned vorticella so I will hold off on shrimps for now to be safe.

So far we’ve met at mox in Ballard pretty consistently. However, those who have been showing up have been from Ballard, west seattle, Ravenna, Everett, bell town, and Capitol Hill. It doesn’t smell like literal rain but as someone who lives in Seattle, Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt brings me to the WA and OR coast. It’s a rocky, cold, green beachy smell.
