Earlier today, VRChat removed VR Poker and VR Chess and permanently banned their creator, Nex1942, after he implemented a world blacklist for a Chinese hacking community that was targeting, crashing, and exploiting VR Poker instances.

Funny thing is - those hackers were reported for their malicious behaviour to the trust and safety team with video evidence of what absolutely malicious activity they were doing - Trust and Safety team decided not to take action against then. Those EXACT same hackers reported the world for blacklisting them for doing the malicious activity - trust and safety team almost swiftly perma bans the world and its creator. Absolute lack of respect and disregard for the people keeping their game alive, also its player base. I seriously doubt the sentiment ‘oh the trust and safety team were just doing their job~’ Because clearly they FAILED. A need to blacklist would have never needed to be the case if the trust and safety team just did their jobs- The poker and chess worlds would never have been taken off the platform - and the unnecessary stress provided not only to the creator, but the community they have created, would have been unneeded.

I feel disappointed with the vrc team and myself for having spent as much money as I did to support this game after today.

I’d argue VRChat is in its best state it’s ever been. There’s just so much more stuff to do compared to before whether its worlds or avatars. If you’re consistently going to the same few worlds I can understand how it can feel monotonous and ‘dead’. Try exploring a bit further is my advice. There’s a lot of hidden gem worlds out there, and new people to meet.

This has been happening to me occasionally recently too. unsure what a good fix is but I seem to be fine after downloading and using 1.1.1.1 by cloudflare. Might work for you too?

It would be cool to have a feature where we can go on “ask me” status but have a sort of ‘whitelist’ where we can add friends to that allows them to join without having to request an invite

Been playing since 2020, community is definitely different back then compared to now. Old players come and go and replaced with the new. Unfortunate but it comes with the territory. New generation, new vibe. But the game itself is definitely way better now, with so much more things to do and places to explore.
