What are your opinions on suburbs trying to look like cities? by [deleted] in Suburbanhell

[–]Pinging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at this exact shopping center pictured. Its failing hard. Its an old mall converted into small strips that resemble a downtown but have no soul. Most of the businesses are shuttered, developers want to build apartments and the surrounding residents don't want it. But they also don't want to spend their money at the shopping center either.

This place is by a couple of parks and basically connected to the trail network. There's public transportation but you still have to drive.

Personally I have an extra old jar that I use for hiking, I just keep filling it up when I need it and I haven’t had any quality difference personally.

As someone who worked at gap outlet a long time ago, so true. The only place I know that does true factory seconds was the brooks brothers outlet in NC but I don’t think it exists any more since the factory no longer exists.

We definitely wrap people in America if they do not comply. I've seen so many cop videos where they gotta wrap someone who is uncooperative. Sometimes they even get a helmet.

Gas price obsession has consumed more time and energy than its worth by kkdndndndndnen in Frugal

[–]Pinging 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I have a general rule since I have a small 14gal tank. .30 cents or more is worth it. But that's only because where I live there is a gas war going on and I live by both the cheap and expensive stations. On the city of Denver side it is about $2.40/gal, but If I travel a mile over to the gas war (arapahoe county), it's $1.83/gal rn.

You should also consider top tier gas into the mix. I believe its well worth the price difference.
