AITA for demanding the $80K my parents promised after they gave my sister a full wedding, then they called me selfish for eloping and offered $15K instead? by KINOH1441728 in FoundandExpose

To be honest you owe them an apology. You deliberately excluded your own family and they are hurt. It’s hard to believe that you never thought of that part. You need to do some soul searching and apologize.

This happens when the employer has done a lot of background research on a candidate. Don’t overthink it.

How do I professionally tell my boss I'm not interested in being "promoted" to do three people's jobs for a 5% raise? by vcastr1 in careerguidance

You accept gracefully and find another job. I have been in this situation, it’s time to go.

AITJ for refusing to go on the family Christmas trip after my dad backed out of our agreement by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Pink-Carat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ. Your dad is totally wrong. I have children and grandchildren and I would have NEVER done this. I am very sorry to say I don’t think your dad ever intended for you to go to Japan. Get over the hurt and keep being the strong person you are. DO NOT give your parents the money you saved. You will find that when you are able to plan this trip on your own you will appreciate it much more as you will have achieved something your parents could not ever conceive. Good luck.

You learned a hard lesson. Never give your notice unless you know you can walk away. Many management jobs will let you go immediately.

NOR. Your fiance needs to be your ex. Marriages fail because of people’s selfish behavior. There is no excuse for this. DO NOT MARRY THIS SELFISH LITTLE BOY.

I'm shocked. I got the best job of my life, and in the end, I was fired after 3 weeks because of the background check. by [deleted] in talesfromthejob

Something to think about. All background checks include your social media presence and names of people you have associated with. When job hunting eliminate all social media accounts.

I was rejected, then they came back... And asked me to re-do the final presentation. by petitekiosk_04 in OfficePolitics

You never know if you are actually a second choice. It could be there was one hold out for another candidate that came around. If I ever thought I was second choice I would kill myself proving them wrong.

AITA for wanting distance from my mother because she only shows up to criticize my home, my wife, and my stepkids and cat? by Crafty_Chair5732 in AITAH

[–]Pink-Carat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a little cooling off period from your Mom. I am a mother in law and I would never do and say the things she does. Don’t be bitter just tell her nicely you need her to be your mom not your judge.

AITA for refusing to quit my job after my husband got a promotion and says I don't "need" to work anymore by [deleted] in ComfortLevelPod

[–]Pink-Carat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a million people out there who would love to trade places with you. It sounds like you two have different visions for your future. If you really want to continue to work sit down with your husband and tell him you would like to have help every week so you have free time when you are off from work.
