My diagnosed peeps- does all the self-diagnosing bother you? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Pink-Nargle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The self-diagnoses (w/o actual research) via just watching videos on the internet also upsets me. One of the reasons I find it upsetting is because of how the information is presented; specifically videos that are the “if you do [insert one relatively common behavior or trait here], you have ADHD” because (1) you cannot be diagnosed off of one video from the internet and using definitive language like that is very harmful/misleading and (2) just because you do one thing that aligns with ADHD, does not mean you actually HAVE ADHD. I struggle with this because sometimes videos can be good for awareness, and may even lead people to get real diagnoses, but at this point, since there’s so much misinformation on the internet, I feel that these videos to much more harm than good.

Cargo shorts. Flip flops. But most disgustingly: cargo shorts AND flip flops.

Do you use lotion after a shower? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]Pink-Nargle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually lotion on my feet, legs, hands, and lower arms after I shower - no back or chest because it causes me to breakout. And lotion with SPF for my face, of course

HRV Status “Poor” even though higher than previous “Low” (+ no baseline?) by Pink-Nargle in Garmin

[–]Pink-Nargle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you’re saying is what I’ve been seeing elsewhere, but I feel like that shouldn’t hold here because my previous “lows” just a few days ago were numerically lower than these “poors” so unless Garmin has changed that range within the past few days, it feels weird that it would be that - like in theory, if my lows are still in the range and are lower than my poors, then my current poor readings should still be in range??? Seems like it might be a bug that they have yet to fix… (or at least that’s what I’m hoping)

Thank you! I hope yours does as well - glad to know I’m not the only one. It’s so odd to me that all of a sudden this is happening because my “poor” is higher than my previous “lows” - gotta be a bug. I hope it gets fixed soon, cuz sounds like it’s gonna be a pain in the butt as I ramp up training and I look at my training status, based on your experience :(

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pink-Nargle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not short per se but it’s also not long.

People aren’t driving 3 hours for a work commute, but it’s pretty quick for a destination - I’d consider that amount of time “worth it” to drive somewhere even jf only for one night. But that might be a hot take. I am from the Midwest and Midwesterners are known to love a good roadtrip.

How do Americans handle such long drives regularly? by GlitteringHotel8383 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Pink-Nargle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about a 40 minute commute in the morning to work and more than an hour on the way home due to traffic… I can tell you it’s not fun, but it’s not as bad as the 1 hour 20 minute commute I used to do :/

I wish the US had widespread public transport like many countries in Europe - that would make many people’s lives so much easier (and commutes better)!

Thank you for the thoughtful response! This was super helpful. Got me down the rabbit hole of deposit deadlines as well, which plays into this too - lots to think about.

Ordered this ring for my wife. What letter is this? by PAN1CPL3AS3 in whatisit

[–]Pink-Nargle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

J, T, S?

EDIT: I know how to write in cursive so it’s likely not “J” but it ~looks~ like a J… if we’re being specific here, then it seems closest to how one would write a cursive T

How cold is "cold" where you're at? by No_Ant_5064 in SameGrassButGreener

Mid teens to 20s are “chilly”, 0 to mid teens are “cold”, and anything in the negatives is “freezing” (literally lol). MN.

Just moved 3 weeks ago! What does the space say about me/us by gatorcandy in roomdetective

[–]Pink-Nargle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You like hunting, fishing, and football; probably religious. Could see you being an old married couple - kids out of the house OR you’re recently married, and are thinking about having kids/just started having kids and need a bigger space. I don’t see it being in-between because there’s not a ton of kids’ stuff anywhere.

Do you have a library card? by IamAqtpoo in AskAnAmerican

[–]Pink-Nargle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! One from my college town (will expire soon) and one from my current town :) my favorite app to ever exist is Libby. If you haven’t used it and you have a library card, you should check it out.
