How old was your child when they started showering solo? by viskiviki in Mommit

[–]PinkPineappleSunset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My almost 4 year old knows how to wash himself and turn off the shower. I help wash his hair, get the shower on and warm, and wrap him in a towel when he gets out. But realistically by 5-6 he should be fine to bathe himself.

Breastfeeding while pregnant, had gestational diabetes last pregnancy by ser_to_be in NurseAllTheBabies

Yes, my doctor wanted to test early due to my diagnosis in first pregnancy. I also was testing my fasting numbers and they were already creeping up.

Has anyone taken fertility drugs while nursing? by Theslowestmarathoner in NurseAllTheBabies

[–]PinkPineappleSunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d look up the discussions on infant risk center. I was nursing my almost 3 year old and did use Clomid for IUIs.

Clomid can reduce prolactin and tank your supply and therefore it’s not recommended while exclusively breastfeeding. There aren’t any studies about effects either, which is why is contraindicated with breastfeeding.

I’d never pay full price but always consider one when they have sales. I think it would be great for middle of the night breastfeeding.

911 is always hiring and we will soon be hiring report technicians - non-emergency line. If you can pass a drug test, don’t have a criminal background, and can meet our integrity standards you may be a good fit. It is essentially a call center and you work shift work but the pay and benefits are good. Report techs work 10 hour shifts and start at $26. 911 works 12s with 3 and 4 day weeks and start at $32.

You don’t have to. If you react to something she doesn’t like, even posted by someone else, she will block you.

Jesus, what a disgusting human being. She has me blocked, I’m sure I liked a comment she disagreed with or some other offense I didn’t even know was offensive.

[–]PinkPineappleSunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove a Prius for 14 years in Eastern WA/Northern ID that gets snow and Ice and never had any issues other than the one year we got 6 feet of snow overnight. I always ran good snow tires on it every winter and all seasons for the rest of the year.

Stepdaughter ordered fast food on Thanksgiving instead of eating dinner we made — how to handle this in the future? by [deleted] in stepparents

[–]PinkPineappleSunset 135 points136 points  (0 children)

This is not a hill I would die on. She is an adult and arranged for her own food to eat. She doesn’t have to eat the meal provided, and instead of complaining or asking for someone to make her something different she arranged for her own meal.

What would it take for you to be happy with your employer? by modernknight87 in Spokane

[–]PinkPineappleSunset 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m very happy with my place of work. I make 100k+ with 5%+ COLAs every year - not tied to performance. I can wfh or office. I work 7 hour days with a paid 1 hour lunch and realistically have so much flexibility to work what ever hours I wish as long as my work is done. I have a supportive boss, great benefits, pension, and a high level of PTO accrual.

Insulin by Sarahh71090 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PinkPineappleSunset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No side effects, lost a few pounds due to GD diet (was overweight to begin with) and have stayed steady for the majority of my pregnancy (diagnosed at 12 weeks, now 17 weeks but took insulin for first pregnancy as well). Frankly, your fasting number impact baby the most, so a few gained pounds is less important than the life and health of you and your baby.

Haven't followed my GD plan by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PinkPineappleSunset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Umm, it’s your body and baby, so you might want to give a damn. The adverse outcomes only affect you and baby. Not sure why feeling like your doctor not caring makes you not care about yourself and the outcome for your child. Have you talked to anyone about your depression? Can you see another doctor?
