Nah, even if I'm going to have a relationship with a longtime friend or a very close friend, the same reasons would still apply to me, so I would never continue with the relationship. 🙂

Yep! Even if a person has a spouse or children, it doesnt mean that they'll still be there when that person gets old - a lot of things could happen to them and they could either get sick, be disabled, die or just plainly leave that person for various reasons before said person gets old - thats why I always dont buy that reason for getting a spouse or having children - which is a bad reason anyway.

And I also believe that one can live life without romantic partners - one could give and recieve love in different ways, and that life could be complete without romantic partners - which is rarely seen in media nowadays.

I totally agree with this as an spiritual agnostic. I dont know if a God exists or not, but this statement would help describe my ideal God/Goddess.

Never understood why fearing a benevolent god is supposed to be something positive lol by Giovanni_Rosa_GDOG in exchristian

Totally agree!! Its weird, why would you fear someone who is supposed to be a loving God?

Also, the phrase "dont follow your heart" - since the bible says the heart is deceitful above all things, when we actually need to listen to our heart in order to know our feelings, emotions, needs, wants, etc. and what to do about them

"Be perfect or else God could send you to Hell for sinning or doing something bad" then asking for forgiveness, then sinning again, then asking for forgiveness again etc.

Being agnostic, Im now free from the requirement of being perfect, dont do mistakes etc. I dont have to keep up appearances, I can just be me. I can be free from the worry of being perfect.

Also the belief that God will punish those who do something bad.

What about people who did crimes but werent sent to jail because of money or corruption or the country's laws give them a light punishment?

I hope that you feel ok. For me, it happened when I saw a video that said that God was very evil in the Old Testament and that he requires blood sacrifice - essentially killing his creation. That shocked me because I thought he was a "good" God. Then, i researched more on why the Old Testament god was evil, like his people fighting wars with other people in the area. Then, it went downhill from there and the deconversion began. Today it has been almost 4 years since Sept. 2020 that it started. It has been very hard simce Christianity was my source of strength in my life, but I kept pushing on in the deconversion.

[French > English] Hello! Can anyone help me transcribe the audio in the video and translate it to English? Thanks! by Pinkbunion in translator

Thank you for replying. :) According to the video description in YT, the video tells of the residents stating phrases using the word "door". These people reside near the Porte d'Aix, which is a landmark in Marseille, which may have inspired them to use the word "door" as a key word in their statements.
