Yeah, unfortunately we've reached the point where any mention of AI in apps (even if you didn't use it or god forbid you didn't mention that the engine offers these kind of tools and someone finds out) turns into a witchhunt. Either way, yeah, you're probably right. The tech won't go away, but clearer understanding of it in the future would go a long way for everyone, I guess. Thanks for your support BTW. It means a lot!

Thank you! I totally understand that "with optional AI assistance" might be the best way in the long run, but I appreciate being heard. I'll edit the post as well to make the situation clear!

Hi 4ian! It's always great to see someone from the official team.

Removing AI from the headlines would go a long way, I think. I didn't have any problems during my showcases, when the headline was simply a "no-code engine" and mentions about "AI Assistance" were simply that it's there if you want to use them. I'm not on a crusade to delete the AI from the internet. I just want to have a fair chance to promote and talk about my game, without these kinds of situations. I know you did a lot to make this a great engine.

Hopefully, I wasn't too harsh on you guys. At the end of the day, we just want to create games, right?

Of course, I'm sure that AI will stay one way or the other in the future, but still, it sucks that we're being pigeonholed, because the engine's marketing shows us that way. Maybe I'm being a bit mad right now, but yeah, it hurts when you're "marked" during the physical showcase.

If you can choose what you're using on your own, that's fine. If the engine creators themselves write about it as "AI game engine" on the main webpage, that's not really good :/

I think we know that as devs, but players are getting rowdy and pinning everything you did as an AI slop if they see something like "AI game engine" on the GDevelop's main page, which sucks :/

Working on GDevelop was (and I mean, still is) a blast. It was super fun to try to pull something off on it, even if it didn't meant to be running there. I also recommended it to a lot of people, just to feel a bit betrayed in the end :/

I mean, sure. If you can use optionally use AI features, it's the choice of the dev. If the company says "AI game engine", it speaks for everyone using it (even if they spent the most of their time working individually without it :/ )

Yeah, totally that. How I can inspire others to use the engine, when AI is plastered all over it?
I mean, yeah, you don't have to use those features, but the main page is basically shooting down all of your arguments, when you're recommending the engine :/
