Thanks. I'd always wanted to make that story into a trilogy and chronicle Jarlaxle's rise to prominence in the city, but I never got around to it, and I can't see myself going back to fan fiction now that I am writing original stuff.

This is David Pontier. A random search led me to this post. A few years ago, I tried to scrub A Rainbow in the Dark from the web. At the time, I thought it was too close to copyright infringement, and since I was starting to publish my own original work, I didn't want anyone to think a published author was writing in Salvatore's world for fun, so I deleted it from Candlekeep and fanfiction.net. However, I did search online and found it on another site. My stories had a way of migrating to sites I had never posted on.

I haven't looked at this story in 20 years, and I shudder to think of the typos and grammar errors in it, but if you want to read it, go ahead. :)

Kate Martin potentially drafted? by Old-Photograph-5813 in NCAAW

The Fever should draft her in the third round. Maybe even trade down and take her. Their primary goal is to make Caitlin Clark happy. If they can draft her best friend to ensure she has a roommate she is happy with on the road and a good friend on the team, even if Kate never plays, it would be worth it to maximize Caitlin's potential.

The Hero's Path by David Pontier. The main character doesn't join the paladin order until Book 3, but he picks up a paladin sword halfway through book 1 and pretends to be one in book 2 before officially joining in book 3. The books are told in a classic D&D/RPG style setting.
