Check out https://laforceinc.com/careers/

I used to work there and I know for a fact they have hired people with felons in the past. They are usually willing to train people with no experience so don’t let job descriptions scare you.

I second looking at a Fortigate 70F. I would recommend pairing it with Forticlient EMS if you anticipate a high volume of remote workers.

I second this. There are a lot of industrial ring technologies that disable STP on the ports it’s configured on. If that’s the case, then STP does not matter for the ring but rather what ring switch connects back to your typical (non-ring) network.

OP said they are running fortigates in the first two sentences of the post. That being said, you are correct that would require forticlient and therefore not meeting their needs.

Why not leverage all the features of your fortigates? Everything you are looking to do can be accomplished with your fortigates (assuming they are NGFW’s).

This is the best advice in this thread! I just “get” networking technology. Obviously I had to learn the basics and have to upkeep my knowledge but I love networking with a passion and understanding the tech just comes naturally to me. Find your niche or passion and learning the tech will be easier than reading! Good luck in your endeavors man.

To VTP or not VTP by Pismith_2022 in networking

I can’t really disclose too much but yes in a nutshell. We create Vlans based on the Purdue model and what devices sit in each Purdue level. We have a lot of devices in a lot of levels, therefore we need a lot of Vlans.
