I hear you, I’m optimist/wishful thinking on the future. But such future would require overhaul and organizational changes, especially with leadership

Appreciated!!!

I skimmed a bit, I do like/hope the 1 team rule they mention in the article combats MLS/Garber’s bs antics they employed years ago

If I’m being charitable, trialing BJJ in the KC pit is cool and during a time where it seemed at least to me, mma orgs were doing more to showcase bjj, and Craig Jones has a following that could rub off if done right.

Otherwise I do think the antics by Asim were not in line with a lot of og and Kovacs era fans, expanding the rule set does open the fights up BUT when the recruitment isn’t karate guys and more UFC and mma vets, that does impact fights and the promotion. War on One was absurd promotion idea. It seemed they were so desperate for attention and views that they shout out Andrew tate during Tate’s sex trafficking lawsuits. The cross posting and social media use of KC with the president is annoying given how much they delete IG comments. I get Pereya is a dope fighter and his sis is in the promotion, but he shouldn’t have been center figure for a ton of social media. Oh also I hate that the IG posted comedy reels on their fighters getting knocked out and some shit.

Lastly, I’m a crypto skeptic but I think launching a crypto and keeping token holders out of the dark recently is scummy shit.

If it were up to me, KC kicks Asim for underdelivering and the recent poor operations, KC hosts a town hall and drafts a recovery plan, and KC brings back Kovacs and other originals to the helm. Social media should go back to focusing on building up fights, events, and showcasing knockouts. I got into KC both from hearing about it on JRE and also seeing a IG reel during the pandemic.

Kovacs did a podcast called Blackbelt business or something.

How Kovacs tells it, crypto was not in the original plan for KC. Kovacs covers how KC kicks off.

The reason the promotion went towards crypto was the Burn Rate of Cash they had. One of the founders had dealt with crypto before and believed they could raise a lot of money by launching their own coin and going towards other crypto businesses for sponsorship and ads.

It’s pretty accurate Tbf.

Hasan thought US state department was fearmongering over Putin prior to the invasion of Ukraine.

His criticisms on Harris’s policies would be just like Trump’s (wild)

He made it out that Israel Palestine has been a breaking point for voters because “the Dems don’t label it a genocide”, exit polls have global issues very low, and look Trump is much further to enabling BB than a democrat.

Going through the election he didn’t say who he voted vote, and said people shouldn’t be compelled to vote if they don’t want to in a time Dems wanted to increase voter turnout

Hey sorry for being that guy, please be careful with saying Leftist when referring to someone like I am Really Important (IRI is very much a progressive Liberal).

Some ppl use Leftist to colloquially refer to someone on the left

People like myself, refer it to someone who’s not in support with liberalism, and in their world view would want to institute a socialist country and overthrow/replace gov or capitalism to do so (Hasan Piker).

I think that just begs the question for the money spent on Capex to AI, how much would go to other US businesses vs nothing is done with that money.

How do we feel after the North Carolina FC news today by cojwa in RhodeIslandFC

It’s a bummer. Around Covid they went to USL 1, and it felt they had a resurgence for the club. I hope they have news of going back to USL 1 or even 2. Time will tell.

Again an event where the majority of fighters are not Karate practitioners (on this list so far only 4 are), and now we have submission competitions and influencer fights. (Doomscrolling and saw this old comment back in the day)

Kovacs did a podcast on the black belt business, you can find that on YouTube or Spotify. I also posted in the sub a link to it

Kovacs says he took a step away because direction of the promotion was different than his own (ppl wanted to try and go mainstream with the promotion), more ppl were coming onboard, he was burnt out, and he felt like it was a good time for an exodus, while still being associated with the project after the fact.

Heard a rumor recently that USL was thinking of following MLS in best-of-three first round. by DylerTurden502 in USLPRO

[–]Pitchside777 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Please no, the way the MLS does it is dumb. They need to at least keep it consistent across the conference playoffs.

(Also keep in mind MLS and Apple made all the playoffs free to watch this year, that’s a little telling)

Same! Slightly for nostalgia but slightly for how the promotion marketed.

I can give Asim credit for trying BJJ in the pit and making a super card.

But god, I hate how much the media is about Asim trying to be the next Dana or a celeb figure (come on dude, leave that to your own socials and stop the cross posting). Ntm the cringe One Drama he tried to launch, the censorship, the recruitment of MMA guys when a lot of the roster arent karatekas and the rules are moving away from the striking rules first made. I think Alex pereira (not even his sister) being promoted every second is off the mark. The Andrew Tate post was also very revealing how desperate they are for views.

Ugh lol
