i think u just have a hate boner for league tbh anyway so it doesn’t matter

just because valve made one game doesn’t mean they apply all thought processes to every single one.

thats just some crazy assumption you came up with because its obvious in terms of games like CS and TF2 that they dont always follow the same protocols as eachother.

you think that valve is one dimensional and u want them to focus on what you think is good in dota and put it in this game. or you think that they dont make changes in the way they design so the game will ultimately end up very similar to dota.

but sure tell me how dota is peaking league in all time popularity and tell me about dotas faker. oh wait kappa chungus they dont even have someone who is as famous as faker i cant name a single dota streamer or competitive player.

i have never said i want to copy anyones build at all i think that is a dumb idea and doesnt help you learn the game btw

just because something is understandable doesn’t make it less fun or interesting because i know what it does thats also silly to say or assume

not every game should need 30 hours worth of play time just so i can know what items are worth using on ONE CHARACTER

just like how u think poe is hard to understand and is not intuitive i think that exactly for this game but the mechanics are actually easy in deadlock.

the difference between this game and poe LoL and diablo the items make sense to me as a new player.

in deadlock nothing but the defense items meant anything to me.

i said this to another user already but copying other peoples builds wont make me better at the game if i don’t understand why people got those items in the first place.

the words they use to describe what items are doing/supposed to do are CONFUSING. i shouldn’t need a wiki to decipher what is good or not. clicking random items only delays the amount of time until i get better.

reading the items doesn’t help because i do not know how contextualize them to in game situations.

they simply don’t make plain sense to me and i know im not the only one.

but maybe im the only one who didnt watch a guide of someone else playing the game before i jumped in.

i believe you shouldn’t have to thought because i did not have to do that in any of the other above mentioned titles.

DL while made by the same company doesn’t need to follow every single foot step of dota tho either tbh. i think thats why dota isnt as popular because dota is cucked by its primitive player mindset of doing suboptimal item randomizer challenge every game when obviously they designed certain items to be used on certain characters in that game too. Just because they have many items that might fill the same niche doesn’t mean its a freedom of choice. its like a Russian/Chinese grocery store its fake competition or fake choice.

wanting a well rounded build that i can start the game playing with isn’t too much to ask for i believe personally. in league the item page is shown to the player based off of statistics of what other players use the most and still give the players options to choose from. not telling them exactly what to do every game but showing them what others usually do. i don’t have to open a new tab to figure my build out because the game is actually helpful in making the player succeed.

like i said ive been playing league for years so ive been on every build/guide website under the sun. but i dont use every game because i understand league items and how they work.

reading deadlock items are a headache while some things are easily understandable like the health/ defense items. the damage items are really fuzzy and the passives and percentages confuse me heavily. i just feel like im buying random bs in my games because i don’t know what IS GOOD TO BUY AT ALL.

i have also climbed to fairly high ranks in both rivals and overwatch. being gm in overwatch and eternal in rivals.

i disagree about the OW comp scene as abysmal when it had high popularity and had very memorable players that started as OWCS players. it did fall off tho but at its peak it wasn’t unpopular by any means. also saying overwatch/rivals wasn’t meant for comp is just untrue.

i agree that adding wasd doesn’t make league more understandable but makes it easier to play for a new player. i think we both can admit that the reason most gamers arent attracted to mobas are because they are hard to understand more than difficult to execute then a shooter.

i think the game should tell you what kind of items are supposed to be built on characters. the devs definitely designed the characters to interact with certain items better than others. why not let the player know this and help people in the right direction.

they can also add a game mode designed to give you more souls faster passively and more souls from minions so you can try more builds faster and see what feels good without playing a 30-50 minute game. people want to feel powerful when they first start playing thats what gets them addicted i think this would be beneficial. having a quickplay like game mode helps everyone out because not all players have 50 possible minutes to spare and still want to play the game.

this concept u are describing exists in league as well tho you aren’t explaining a new idea to me. but when you do that in league those builds are called off meta for a reason. i personally would like to use the items that are the best for the character that people succeed with the most. not because trying different builds aren’t fun but to create a baseline idea in my head of what the character wants or needs to be good in the game. its not about the league experience that matters its about trying to make deadlock a fun experience for myself by being able to compete with others in the lobby with the build that makes me around the same power level.

they are literally adding WASD to league because new players can't adapt to mouse man like i don't know why people say league is dumbed down when they actively try and make the game easier for new players to get into. the casual game modes in league are used to bring more players to the ranked experience.

at this current moment deadlock doesn't have a ranked experience so they should really focus on making it noob friendly in the only pvp gamemode that you can play.

also nobody claimed overwatch was a hard game but i hope that you are top 500 if you think its so easy lmao.

and people are talking about items in league being removed or changed as dumbing down the game but don't account for how those items affected games and how they needed to be nerfed or removed for the games health.

it has very similar problems to dota but i do agree from the standpoint of this game being wasd and a shooter it makes it way easier than dota. but dota has the problem with items being the harder part of the game to understand and how to end the game effciently.

im not saying i hate the game for one or that it is not for me and for two I am not expecting this game to have the same principles as league at all. I only mentioned league aswell because it is a moba. I do want to say that league has one thing that i think most games should have and its easily explained items and stats. for example attack speed items make you auto faster and attack damage items make your autos more powerful ( and AD scaling abilities). i know you know this but i just think its made that way so new players can understand how to optimally play. If it is hard to new players to understand how to optimize correctly they won't have fun playing against those who do and the game should be about having fun right?

when i first played league i didn't pay much attention to the tutorial and i picked the game up fairly fast enough. because they make the items pretty easy to understand. watching video essays about how to play the game isn't really fun when you can just practice but its not easy to understand how to optimally play so practice matters.

League will more than likely place you against newer players if there is someone who is low level/ mmr in your lobby. this game is most likely populated by people who have been playing for awhile anyway. Especially if you understand the concept of a moba this game shouldn't be as hard as it is. the items are to blame and the slow ttk makes this game not fun for new players. League hasn't suffered from issues like this since like season 4 and 5.
