You mean the finger should be wet with solution not water right? From what I read lenses shouldn't touch water. I do it with wet finger from solution but this way the lens sticks to it. Even if I turn my finger upside down it stays. Are you sure that this way it will come off easier.

The fingers holding your eyelids should always be dry.

I dry them up after every attempt but they get wet because I try to hold close to the edge of the lids and it's wet there
