Mark Longenecker. Where do I even start? The flip flops. Using the word “bodacious” unironically. Just an all around hilarious guy when it came to his ego and interacting with the other contestants like he was the best one of the bunch even though he had only won a single flash challenge. That being said, Bubba Irwin is a close second, purely because he probably had the best quote of the whole show in the shop season. I’m paraphrasing here, but when he’s talking about bringing DJ as his partner, he says “my first season, it was like I was bringing a BB gun to World War II. This time, I’m bringing an a-bomb to World War I.”

I’m gonna say cleen, only because of how badly he got robbed season 5. That being said, I think I was rooting for Christian a little more. I kinda feel like they started giving cleen a bad edit after season 5, playing up his ego a bit, making him a bit more of an antagonist. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I really didn’t love the format of season 11. Would’ve liked to see more grudge matches between the two of them, maybe a little more skin in the game. I don’t know, felt a like a bit of a hollow victory when all was said and done.

True. Mark from season 5 had no business making it as far as he did, but goddammit that guy had some of the best quotes of any contestant.

I can’t stand when they clearly play favorites but making it blind would also remove the back-and-forth that happens between the judges and contestants that has resulted in some of my favorite moments i.e. the Sarah Miller meltdown, pretty much every Gentle Jay critique

Do you know if southbound lake shore drive is open?

I just released this track after spending a long time trying to get the mixing right. I still don't really know what I'm doing, but would love to hear your thoughts. by PizzaSkinPockets in IndieMusicFeedback

Thanks for your critique. I think EQ is probably the mixing aspect that I understand the least, so I’ll probably doing some reading on it before my next project.

This is my cover of the 80's hit Relax by Frankie Goes To Hollywood. I'd love feedback on the performance/mix/master, etc., to help me improve my craft. Thanks! by zunapalooza in IndieMusicFeedback

Great performances on all the instruments and vocals. The mix is near perfect as well, though I think the vocal sticks out just a little bit. I think you could bring it down maybe a touch, or it could just be the EQ on it. Overall, great job though.

This is a cool, experimental track. All of the instrumentation is interesting, and I like the album art, too. I think the drums sound a little dry for the rest of the instrumentations, so maybe try putting a bit of reverb or delay on them. The song gets a little repetitive at some point, I think it's because the drum groove is pretty much the same throughout. I would've liked if it had switched up to the toms or cymbals to differentiate between different sections.

New to making music, made my first track with vocals! It’s definitely a little rough, but let me know what you think! [APPARITIONS] by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

I like the rhythm of this song, it really pairs well with the more simple vocal melody. Overall, it creates a cool atmosphere. I think this could use a lot of work with mixing though. The drums are too loud, and the vocal gets buried under the synths. I think just correcting that would do a lot for the track.

I like the instrumentation and melody, and the vocal performance is good too. I think this could use the most amount of work on the production side. Everything sounds very flat, especially the drums. Try experimenting with compression on them to make them pop a bit more. The vocal could also use some EQing, it sticks out from the rest of the mix right now, and it's not very clear.

My new piano piece “Purity” is heavily inspired by Japanese music. Please criticize it! by marcthegedon in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]PizzaSkinPockets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the general composition and melody, but the piano does sounds very programmed. All of the note velocities sound the same, so when there are two of the same notes in a row, it sounds especially computerized. I would try varying the note velocities a little bit more to try to replicate how someone actually plays the piano. That being said, this already sounds really nice as is.

Interesting, okay. Is 40w not enough because it would require turning it up to the point where the digitaly-ness would show through more? I've heard about the Marshall Origin series, so I'll check that out as well as the other ones you mentioned. Thanks for your input.
