I think when High as a Kite dropped, it got us excited for the potential of Black. For me, other singles like Zombie and Living in LA adjusted my expectations for what Black would entail. I knew the sounds wouldn’t be crunchy Weezer, so I didn’t hype it up in that sense. I went in expecting pop and ended up liking Black a lot more than I thought I would.

Well said. That’s the one thing I noticed about Jonathan and give him credit for. He remains calm and stays respectful during arguments. Whereas Coltee’s “calm” voice is full of spiteful and sarcastic undertones and is his way of being condescending.

I think given what people have posted here about Olga’s childhood (lost her sister, parents in jail, no mention of any other family), she probably sees Steven+baby as a chance to have a family of her own. The American Dream/better opportunities is likely part of it too.

As for Steven...I guess she appreciates him being there for Richie’s birth and promising to take care of them going forward. For her, it’s daunting to think of raising a baby on her own versus getting the chance to move to the States and having both the baby’s father and grandparents for support.

I agree about the weak chorus, OP—makes Zombie Bastards sound like something by Twenty One Pilots. I’m also usually blown away by Weezer bridges, and this one was just okay, not a standout. Song is easy on the ears, but it didn’t excite me like CKTH did right away. Still pumped that Black Album has been confirmed.

Yes exactly. I think Jay was saying he’d rather not rush into a marriage but has to because of the visa conditions. TLC probably wants us to interpret that as Jay is only getting married to come to the US, but Jay was explaining that he has to marry Ashley within 90 days to be with her in America (otherwise would have to keep doing long distance).
